There are too many scattered pieces . If you go back to prior runs of gfs and cmc those pieces are just now showing up. When this happens I think it makes models jumpy and unreliable at range.

LOL, right on cue the NOAA radar is inaccessible. Happens very often whenever you actually have a major precip event.

And that I think is the killer. Was thinking about that yesterday. It’s almost like we have a summertime Bermuda high pattern. In late fall when we had that pool of anomalous warm water north of Alaska we speculated that it might have been the reason for the anomalous heights in that region. I wonder if this is the same scenario.

LOL. Maybe brush up on geography? The vast majority of land on this planet is outside of 30 degree from the equator. People in almost all of those areas are at some point going to see snow.
