  1. Here's a whole row of evergreens basically demolished. Those Leeland Cypress don't do well in snow anyway.
  2. Wife and I just got back from a 2mi snowshoe around the area and it's devastation for conifer trees. Almost every single tree is very damaged or blown over. A guy down the street has/had a row of 12x 30ft+ cypress trees and all except one are completely taken down. Even white pines were heavily damaged, one of mine basically broke in half. Loblolly pines lost a ton of branches. Holly trees are all completely bent or broken. Tree damage here is much worse than 09-10, hurricane Irene, 2016 blizzard, 2012 derecho or any other storm we've had since at least 2004.
  3. JB thinks there's blizzard potential and that it's going to be a cold storm. No indication on bullseye though.
  4. I'll never complain about snow but please let it not be Sierra cement.
  5. Just cleared the driveway. Sounds like a war zone with trees and branches cracking all over the place. I lost a lot of trees, this storm was no joke. It's still snowing albeit very lightly. Still no power either.
  6. I just measured 10.5" on my deck in northern Calvert. It's already consolidated a bit though. Luckily wind has basically disappeared with only light snow now. Gonna have to tackle the driveway soon.
  7. Just lost a 20yr old river birch. Also a large Holly tree literally just uprooted and fell over. I cant even go outside to enjoy it because branches are falling left and right and I'd be afraid for my safety. In terms of destruction this is the worst storm I've had since I lived here since 2004. Even the derecho had fewer trees down. Power still down too.
  8. I'm right off the western shore in Calvert and our power has been down for almost an hour now. Also just heard multiple large explosion sounds which I'm guessing must be large tulip trees cracking as we don't have any large transformers around us. It's startling how loud they are.
  9. Power is down in Huntingtown. Luckily I'm using the wood stove.
  10. Close to 6" in Huntingtown temp has risen to 33.8F.
  11. 32F with some heavy snow down here and power is off and on. Good to finally be in the jackpot zone, close to 2" on the ground so far.
  12. Meh just sleet here. Wish it would change over.
  13. I don't feel that we shoulda started a thread since this isn't a region-wide event.
  14. Winter storm warning still holding at 5-8" which is a pretty big FU to the models. MBY is still ground zero so I don't care, bring it on.
  15. Euro jackpot is literally in my backyard. This literally hasn't happened ever.
  16. WeatherBug says 6-10". If I wasn't retired I'd be taking the day off work tomorrow.
  17. He must be on halliburton's payroll. Whatever, I'll take 5" of sierra cement at this point.
  18. Do you have a sunshield to keep temps close to absolute zero? Local Climo would improve if you had that. JWT is a good place to start.
