  1. Traffic cams show snow falling at mm 27.7 on 77. That is between Cornelius and Huntersville. Also snow at 85business split in Lexington.
  2. Traffic cam on 77 shows snow has made it down to mile marker 34.7. Mecklenburg County starts/ends at mile marker 30. Mooresville folks seeing snow per the cams. I am 5 miles as the crow flies from Mooresville. Also it is 38/36 now in Concord.
  3. Snowing yet? Concord NC wind gust of 41mph. It's ominous sounding to say the least.
  4. Concord here. 42 and the wind has been unbelievably strong for about 8hrs. Gusts to 30mph at times. Hoping the trees imby don't fall on the house. Checking traffic cams and looks like Rutherford County is snow now....also as usual.W-S is quickly changing to snow. The sky is brightening so looking forward to a few flakes even here on the dreaded 85snowline. Can anyone outside of the mountains verify snow?
  5. Yeah, I watched some guy on YouTube talk about a 50/50 chance of a decent snowstorm in the South. I started laughing. Outside of of our NC mountains, snow and storm do not get together in November here..lol
  6. Expecting some patchy frost here in Concord on wed and thur nights. Lows around 36. Expecting widespread frost friday/Saturday nights. Lows right at 33 those nights.
  7. Wow, trending EVEN COLDER, For Concord Sat night-43 Sun night-41 Mon night-42 Patchy frost for sure if these verify. Always tends to take a nose dive around 6-630 during radiational cooling.
  8. Hey thanks for this. Just seeing it. Awesome.
  9. Trending cooler at night next week. 42 for Concord Tuesday night. A bit of light frost wouldn't be surprising. Would imagine Statesville, Hickory etc will see an official frost.
  10. Pretty sure it dipped into the upper 40s here in Concord early this am. LOVE THAT!
  11. Oh that's right.. I remember Al Conklin mentioning that on WBTV now. And people still think Climate change doesn't affect all of us. SMH. Thanks.
  12. Ditto here in SW Concord on the Harrisburg/Concord line. I really observe the radars especially in summer and something strange this year. Seemed like Highland Creek and NW Cabarrus from about 85 and points N got the rain. It's like 85 has an invisible wall that just didnt budge much this year. I honestly sat on my porch and with the quietness of nighttime could hear the hum of the wind and rain of nearby storms but nothing. Strange. If you study satellite maps of NE Charlotte into Cabarrus, a TON of tree canopy has been wiped out in last 15yrs. The Speedway area has no trees. Burton Smith and Concord Mills BLVD were clear cut for all the stuff in that area. 485 saw clear cutting. And the industrial parks around Concord Airport saw more loss of trees. Tree canopy and loss of it changes an area and I think were seeing some proof of this recently in this area. Just my 3 cents. Good luck on rain in LKN.
  13. Driving out of Charlotte to Concord at 930am today... man did it look hazy. That 85N drive in the am has the sun in your face. It's basically due EAST on 85 from Gastonia to the 29/49 split past Sugar Creek. I'm so sick of humidity and mosquitoes!!! Any signs of a nice cold front soon?
  14. Concord 39/36 Accuweather says ICE for next 60mins at least!! Lol, I can assure you that this is NOT verifying atm.
  15. Lololol... true true .. .so sad right! '>/
  16. Polar vortex?!?!?!? WHERE IS IT!! Been gearing about it for. Weeks! But being the optimist I'm still trying to be.... we still have until around March 10th statistically for a nice southern storm. So 30days. '<)
  17. The news showed that the snow did fall some in Matthews.... but not imby.. of course I missed the snow that caused a dusting on Saturday night
  18. Cant buy a snowflake imby. I honestly believe being just East of Charlotte somehow factors into my weather. Urban heating(yes i know it was 25 thia am iin Charlotte) but I GOTTA blame something..irrgghhhh!!!!
  19. Im also davenc btw.... Moderate sleet in SW Concord. Yippee!! Guessing that yellow heading out of Charlotte is sleet as well.
  20. Happy with cold rain with this one. Expecting a snowstorm in about 7-10days. Thunder so deep the other night, had a few small picture frames fall off wall
  21. Having lived most of my 43yrs in NC(Rowan County until 12th grade, now Concord), winter is normally one let down after another. But records show that outside of the high country and foothills, we see an avg of 3-7" depending. About 4-5 imby. Most years that's what adds up. An inch here and there, and usually a storm with great potential starts as snow and then that pesky warm nose turns it into a sleet festival. All that to say , there was no accumulating snow last year where I live. Saw some flakes? Sure. But it stands out because I'm going on 700+ days without seeing the ground white. I will be super shocked to see that happen back to back. There is STILL roughly 40-50 days for all of us to see accumulating snow. I firmly believe we will. I can't read the models, but I can speak from experience. Hang in there. We all know that February and the first 10 days of March are game time!!
  22. Charlotte gets LUCKY A bit of hope for us CLT area weenies!
  23. Love when its 34 in Concord and 70 in Columbia! Guessing 45-55miles apart as the crow flies?? Southern winters !
