  1. I didn't fare very well here in Concord. Snow was beautiful from apprix 2am-8am Then It was a sleet fest from 8am until it stopped. Then about a half inch of snow with the ULL. 3" TOPS all together.
  2. Thank you voice of reason!! Too much juice for this to disappear...
  3. Was in philly(20yrs ago) and every station was calling for up to 2 FEET of snow... the storm never formed as they had forecast. Snow isnt as difficult to forecast up there. All that to say it happens... it also happens the other way around. Lived in NoDa and had a surprise 9" imby around 1998 or 99. Ballantyne had 16".. seems that may have been the yr Raleigh had over 20inches. That storm was a surprise. I will still be watching radar Friday for nowcasting
  4. I would have literally admitted myself to a psych ward if that happened to me! How does that even happen! I was living in Philly during that storm but mom was living Mooresville on the Iredell/Rowan County line. She racked up 14" from that storm.
  5. WSOC said 1" "on the high end".. hahaha the high end compared to what? I'm ready for a REAL storm. Hopefully all this cold air that keeps sinking S is setting things up for another 93 or 96.... BRING IT
  6. I had like 4hrs of excitement regarding this storm here in Concord. I'm convinced that this can all shift back to a snowstorm for those it was showing earlier today. Is it normal for everyone to jump ship in a 4hr window of bad runs? They are talking about deleting this storm's main thread already????
  7. Isn't this typical last minute "disco" (I believe that's what y'all refer to it as)
  8. NOOOO! My niece in Durham is so excited already. Mother nature should be ashamed!!
  9. It helps when I read the quote that u quoted... oops.. nice total for last week!
  10. Here in the Robinson HS area in Concord. WBTV very conservative with just 1-3" for the 77 corridor. Where are you seeing 4.5" for your area??
  11. My 9yr old niece lives in Durham and really hoping y'all get slammed in the Triangle!!!
  12. He is the new Chief Meteorologist at WBTV. But noone can replace Eric Thomas!!! However Al Conklin has been known to be a snow lover!!
  13. I'll take 5-6" and skip through my neighborhood! Would be most snow I've seen in the 15yrs I've lived in Concord.. :-))
  14. My sister lives in Enochville just N of Kannapolis. I live in Concord..almost in Harrisburg. I may just pack a bag and stay with her. Could have 6-8" at her place while I enjoy sleetmageddon imby... Can't chance that. Hmmmm
  15. Was 21 in Concord last night... down to 26 here at 5am... should fall another degree or two.
  16. Would love to see Charlotte and Raleigh have one as well. 4yrs in Charlotte since we have had over 2" for the entire winter. Long overdue
  17. I grew up in Rockwell but live in Concord now.(Roberta Mill near Harrisburg) and it blows my mind the difference it made moving 15-20miles south of Rockwell has made. I mentioned hwy 73 yesterday. You are 100% correct. Mt.Ulla usually does well tho... good luck!
  18. Hey guys... A Storm can create it's own cold air right?. What's that called and could we see it with this storm? Thx
  19. I'm in Concord but yeah, I may follow suit and spend some time with you guys for awhile. But, as I posted on main thread... For what it's worth. On Sunday AccuWeather has Concord at 31 with snow and "potential for a winter storm". Last night they had me at 36 with wintry precip. It's AccuWeather so who knows... but man it sure felt good to see all snow flakes for Sunday... I know it'll change a few times still before onset, but I'm going to go stare at those flakes for a bit... haha
  20. For what it's worth. Last night AccuWeather had Concord at 36 degrees with wintry precip for Sunday. They have changed Sundays forecast to 31 degrees with snow, stating a Winter Storm is possible. I'm just gonna stare at that for awhile....
  21. This looks as good as anything I've seen posted so far! Am I missing something??
  22. Ohhh it's so hard to stay optimistic about this one. I know nothing about the model runs... I base my forecast off of being a native. I'm gonna hang in until this thong turns into a southern soaker for all of us. History tells us that most Southern winter storms come down to now casting for those of us E of 77 and S of 40. FINGERS CROSSED
  23. What's with the L in N Alabama? Wasn't it in the FL panhandle at lunch?? Sheesh
