  1. Surprised there's no fire weather warnings up today. Dew point is in the low teens. I guess that 2" of rain helped supress that risk, but wow that dew point is low. Wish it was like that in the summer.
  2. Yes, the number of 6"+ storms was great. I couldn't ask for more at all. Plus, February having at least 4" of snow on the ground for 3 solid weeks was great.
  3. Ok...I only care about the snow total at the end of the season. 55" contained mostly between December and February is pretty perfect. It was a great winter. My point was, if we get low totals for March, that's just the way it goes, I didn't mean literally that .1" is the only way this could go.
  4. I'd be floored if parts of the state received 4 feet of snow over the two weeks.
  5. My point is once we get into late March, I'm done with snow. So, once it warms up next week, I'd like it to stay.
  6. Eh, at this point I'm good. It's March, so I'm ready for a warm up. Tuesday and Wednesday next week are looking nice.
  7. That’s why taking one run and accepting it isn’t the best plan.
  8. But if we get a top 10 or top 15 winter every winter, then we make the totals almost impossible to actually achieve at some point. There's around 140 years of weather history in Pittsburgh, if we get a top 20 or top 30 snowy winter that's pretty damn good. Do we all want top 10 years, absolutely, but we have to celebrate small victories.
  9. This was a phenomenal winter. I'm totally happy. This dry stretch coming up will be a nice way to start meterological Spring. Sunny skies return and not brutally cold for March, very seasonable.
  10. Since it was only the 1st yesterday, I would have said we still had a good shot at seeing snow before the month was over.
  11. It was late March and 10". Regardless of duration it was impressive. Possibly the latest 10" storm on record, so record setting for you. March '18 had 12.3" (with that storm), '17 had 9.7", '15 had 9", '13 had 15.2", your record warm 2012 had 6" of snow. So, in the last decade we had 4 Marchs with above average snow, a few that are just a few inches below average, and even less with almost no snow. So, Winter does not just abruptly end every year, in fact it feels as if it frequently drags into March more often than not. You need to stop expecting record events in every month and every season.
  12. Anyway, snowing pretty hard right now. Ground is now white. Definitely a surprise.
  13. Yeah, since that map doesn't give any clues to magnitude, I'm not remotely entertaining 2012 level warmth.
  14. Well yeah, since March 2012 was 12 above average, I’d say it’s unlikely we challenge it, lol. 5 above isn’t even close, ha!
  15. Doubt we get to either of those two extremes. You literally picked the most extreme Marchs to compare this one to. i'd relax expectations if I were you.
  16. ^Chill. It was a good ride, and they don't last for months on end. We got three solid months of winter that actually spanned the winter months. I'm grateful.
  17. Yeah, only 5" less than Erie, and 11" more than Cleveland! Amazing!
  18. Nice to see us in the top 10 snowiest major areas in the Northeast.
  19. Early summer last year was pretty low dew point. About half way through the early July heat wave is when the dew points rose.
