  1. Looks like we got a nice little bit of snow last night. Covered the grass at my house.
  2. Short range models look a bit better. I guess we'll see what's going to happen. I'll stay positive for even a little something. Maybe a squall or two tomorrow whitens it up even more.
  3. We're basically in the short range models mostly, right?
  4. Something to consider for sure. HRRR isn't too bad usually. Single digits seems a little extreme for today, but maybe, tomorrow's high is only supposed to be around 21, so maybe.
  5. Yeah, and a lot of times surprise events do pop up. It can happen. I think too many people hinge the entire winter on 6"+ storms and historic storms. That's not the Pittsburgh climate. We are and most always are a nickel and dime climate. Wonder if any snow squalls pop up with any arctic fronts. Another event that isn't well modelled.
  6. It’s January 13th, no reason to say winter’s done. Will we reach seasonal average maybe not, but there is a ton of time of decent storms. There are always lean years. The last decade caused averages to go up so that obviously means winters were better than normal. We’re paying for those now. We’ll get ours again, and if you don’t believe that, then I feel bad for you.
  7. 7” is pretty good. If that were the outcome, I don’t think we’d have too many complaints.
  8. I’d rather be out of it early than in it early if history is any indication. Can only trended better if we aren’t in it.
  9. Then maybe try and be less negative. Why are you like that? Can’t you ever find anything positive to say?
  10. Yeah, things don’t look to good for early next week. Hopefully, we can squeeze out even an inch on the ground for the really cold weather.
  11. Ron Smiley saying an inch today? That seems generous.
  12. Plus, we don’t want to be in the bullseye this far out anyway. We saw how that panned out on Saturday. Rather be on the northern end at this point.
  13. It seems pretty rare too to get a polar shot of air without some snow with it.
  14. There’s still plenty of time. Seems a storm is always lost around the week to go mark.
  15. Obviously take with a grain of salt, but the weather app on the iPhone has next week very cold and a snowstorm Tuesday with 9” of snow falling and a high/low of 19/11. Will change, but would be something to have a storm with temps that cold.
  16. Also, maybe can’t count out the weekend system. Highs on Saturday are about 33 now down from upper 30s yesterday and 20s Sunday.
  17. Yeah, surprised how much snow was and has actually fallen. Good to know we’re getting good rates this year. Maybe bodes well later.
  18. Yeah, we can toss this week. Next week looks to be an interesting one.
  19. Oh boy to that GFS 16th storm. That would be nice, and the cold to follow and look it in.
  20. Which model handled this last system the best overall? Seems the Euro was too much snow for us, and GFS was too little. Maybe the future is somewhere in between the two.
  21. That's quite the run. Hopefully, some version of that comes to fruition. That would be pretty brutal though for the midwest, and if the southeast experience what it showed, they'd be crippled.
  22. I believe it's the British spelling, with an o added in.
  23. Is the overnight and tomorrow stuff wrap around or like lake effect?
