    We had a Nov event, maybe 2003/04 that brought some glaze right to the CT but no further south; this reminds me of that minus the snow further north.

    We have had other icing events over time, but 2008 while it did not reach my former area of S ORH county/NE CT clearly sticks out. I was working a Ambulance shift and remember hearing Oxford MA being toned out for numerous trees down and here I was 12 miles south and plain rain. I have seen pictures of damaging ice that far south in the early 1900’s but that is it.

    Sturbridge and Charlton are not bad, we easy Pike access.

    2008 didn’t hit everyone, it made it just south of the pike into N Oxford.

    Yup 42 here this am and barely breaking 60 for a high for the third day in a row. We had the coldest Christmas in 25 years!

    I’m not sure that’s the case, we have had plenty Jan Thaws with temps into the 60’s

    Mount Hope River along Rt 89 in Ashford CT already flooding; power outages were the focus of concern now basement flooding might be a bigger issues

    Merry Christmas all, front past down here temp dropping like a rock. Hopefully this is a bust for you guys and no more than a few scattered outages.

    Heard from Family in Atlanta and Knoxville and both getting snow right now.

    Quite the line heading north from DC; going to be some flooding in PA and NY

    I think it’s a combination of making up for their poor restoration efforts earlier in the year and also being Christmas/cold

    Quite the squall line on the Southern end of the front in N FL/GA. We are poised to have the coldest Christmas in S FL in about 25 yrs!

    Are the smaller rivers and streams free flowing, ie no ice jam concerns. 2-4” of rain with melting pack presents hydro concerns alone

    Is see BOX has hoisted High Wind Watches for Eastern areas, I assume High Wind Warning for CT zones?

    I know cold spell wasn’t long, but any Hydro issues due to ice jams in the smaller rivers and streams?
