  1. That’s a VERY good sign downstream that it’s snowing in ATL
  2. ATL looks like the dry air is going to cave to snow any minute now based on radar
  3. Radar and mping reports indicate that the “snow finger” modeled is verifying across the midlands of SC. This is good news for central NC as it is oriented to move into that region soon. This will help to saturate the column and as forcing increases this evening it should help maximize the snowfall as less will be burnt through evaporation
  4. New Orleans is reporting blizzard conditions right now lmao
  5. New Orleans might re write the record books today. Getting absolutely smoked and that radar is incredible
  6. The “snow hole” on ATL radar is starting to shrink, implying we are seeing a more Rapid moistening of the atmosphere and getting closer to them seeing flakes
  7. I’m super close to both. I am off six forks/millbrook behind the food lion
  8. RAH making tweaks to warnings. We’ll see if advisories expand westward
  9. Here’s a ground report from Lafayette from my family: 6-8” already. Just had thundersnow! Cannot see houses across the street. 2 foot drifts around house. Pics look like full on blizzard. Wish I could post them. They have a lot of snow to come. Might crack 10”
  10. That’s a bingo! Agreed. You’ll go from flurries to 1” quick given how little moisture will be needed for 1”
  11. What a cold winter. We’d forgotten what these were
  12. Really think the triangle is in a great spot to break the 1” snow drought
  13. I think Wake county gets 1-2” tonight. Triad will be tricky with the edge but I think you go from no accumulation to 1” pretty quick then you have a large area of 1-2” before the coastal plain increase
  14. The NAM drops .2-.3” QPF in the central piedmont of NC tonight. It was 0.05-0.10” last night. This will be a much bigger deal in a hurry if we get .2” QPF in these temps. I would not write off an over performer (2”) for piedmont areas given latest and continued NW trends
  15. Ummm yea, about those models. WWA for us. Seems likely to keep expanding NW
  16. This hobby takes a toll on your sanity
  17. FV3 and NAM gonna be good runs for central NC
  18. Not going to lie, watching the Euro join the trend with everything else is giving me hope. This is the first time we’ve had consensus on a trend across suites. When the euro headfaked everyone a couple days ago everything else was going opposite direction. One thing that seems locked in is New Orleans getting historic snowfall amounts. I have family in Lafayette and they are beyond excited. If we get snow it’ll make me much more happy to cheer for the gulf coast, lol
