  1. Big gradient that year in the St John valley. I went up to Ft Kent for work last week of March and there was no snow on the ground through Ashland and then boom as soon as you can over the hill on 11 past eagle lake it was full on winter with deep pack. Snowed 7” first day we were there and we managed to sneak out of work and ski the t bar at Lonsome pines in the best conditions I had all year on March 29.
  2. I have confidence in another period of good snows for my area. As you know we don’t typically do blockbuster storms here that get us 30% of climo in a day. We stack it up and retain. Hard to retain though when you don’t snow lol
  3. not good yesterday either. They will blow snow this week, have to the way things look on the hill right now with vacation week around the corner.
  4. talked with the president of the club last week. Same issue as last year, even with snow otg nothing ever froze and they had major water issues which they did their best to deal with. They're usually pretty eager but it will take another 10" to get it going is my guess. Hard to believe the work these clubs put in for seasons that last 3 weeks. Its been an epic bad stretch locally for trail riding. 18-19 was the last good season.
  5. Sitting at 39" STD. Gonna really need some help here soon because we're rapidly falling behind. Over two weeks with no measurable snow in the heart of climo in NNE snow country is bad, no way around it.
  6. Great day out. Moose pond loaded with ice fisherman, great vibe on the hill
  7. That’s a life threatening situation for parts of the maritimes. Probably hope for their sake we get an earlier phase, pork’s SNE and jacks dendrite to me, just sayin
  8. Great insight from the Mets in here, thanks. Two days ago this was a snowstorm for DC. Probably there’s more rugs to be pulled yet
  9. Looks like we’re losing this one in NNE. Unlike Dendrite I’m happy to steal some snow with late trends however. Still a long way to go with this
  10. 39”. too bad we couldn’t squeeze a bit more out of Mondays system to get to average for Feb 1 which is about 42” at my house since I moved here in 2013. We are also lagging just slightly from this time last year.
  11. What a torch today across the continent. 60 degrees in Alberta and Saskatchewan in January is wild. We're in our own little winter world in the NE however.
  12. back to snow on the reach around. despite my whining this was actually a pretty cool event with the multiple ptype transitions. plus the skiing was very good. dense couple of inches on top of the crust from yesterday worked fine - the mountain was 100% skiable including the woods.
  13. This was a good reminder that in marginal systems the positive snow depth change maps are best for forecasting
  14. Mesos were on crack for this one and everyone, including myself, bought into it. Nice little refresh but we’re gonna bust very low on GYX forecast. On to the next one
