  1. How about 1675? The Second Great Colonial Hurricane or The New England Hurricane of 1675. A hurricane said to be almost as powerful as the 1635 New England Hurricane swept the New England coastal region. Blew down many trees in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, and destroyed warves. Older colonists that experienced the 1635 hurricane said this one had similar characteristics placing it among New England's most destructive storms.[58]
  2. Rita and Ike are largely viewed as landfalls for Houston. I was in TX/LA after both of them.
  3. A lot of folks would be happy with '88, '99, '55, '53, etc type outcomes. Let's hope for it
  4. Ah the joys of WFH. Any day could be Friday
  5. I actually agree with this, maybe not a "great" one but decent/pretty good
  6. Hopefully we get some rain this winter
  7. don't like seeing that precip back in from the NE, hopefully it dries up.
  8. Looks like a pretty big deal, at least verbatim. Hopefully a bit west and stronger, but good start

  10. Pretty much into September by then, but looks like Edouard II on the gfs.
  11. Want to transplant this thing off OBX and shoot it north
  12. That's a good guess by Fish, I'd probably bring .5" a bit west but not much.

  14. The irony of every week, posting reminding everyone you are on hiatus during the summer.... afraid everyone misses you?
  15. sift through pages of winter/blizzard talk for a few on-topic posts. No thanks
  16. Funny that you "take a break" in summer, yet still somehow post more than anyone else. (besides Coastal, no one can match his post count)
  17. Any mention of the upcoming rain? Or anything relevant?
  18. too bad this thread devolved into blizzard talk in August. Hopefully people crap on threads this winter with summer talk.. ;0
  19. ldub is irrelevant, though I did find Rainstorm mildly amusing with the absurdity of their bad calls back in the Eastern days. lol On topic, I'd probably give at least one of those waves a chance at making it across. But I'd doubt there would be multiple threats prior to early Sept.
  20. 18z gfs has a decent looking TC approaching the Leeward islands at the end!
