That isnt necessarily a horrible thing for my area. If they cut further west with some entrenched cold air we can get a nice front end thump then dry slot. It happens quite often actually.
GFS is a heavy rainer. It is still keeping the second wave idea alive though. I think DC still has a chance with that. We are probably done out here for this weekend though. I am almost wishing it would cut further west at this point. We can score a couple of inches on the front end then. But that doesnt look very likely.
12Z 3K gets snow into my area mid afternoon on Thursday. Very light stuff though. I think an inch through the area would be realistic. I wish the 3K went past 60.
That is a potent second wave on the GFS. Dont know if its going to help us though.
DC gets into the snow at 141. A little late for those of us out west.
It does happen. But normally we need a secondary low to form on the boundary and ride north. This is looking more like a frontal passage than anything else. Although a very strong one so who knows.
Edit. And just like that the GEFS are showing a follow up wave.
Yeah. If you are gonna take the run verbatim. I mean, I dont know about you, but i will take LP's running under us in January any time. And that is all I am seeing with the run. Ptype issues at long range are a joke. But you know that.
We were skiing down the hill in in our yard with boots on. You literally could not break through the sleet glacier with your feet. It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. I remember my poor dog. he was crawling around on his belly on it. He didnt know what the hell was going on.
