I always found OEM car tires were garbage but truck tires the opposite but then trucks are over engineered so no scrimping on them. Rim might need to be checked as well. Looks like it to took a pointy end of a curb. Could have a hairline crack. Alloys don’t take much abuse.
Seems like the winters on the east coast are getting milder and less snowy and the west coast is getting colder and more snow. Anyway sitting at 0.4cms ytd snowfall. Worst start ever here. Should be at about 10 inches by now. Not insurmountable but a big hole to climb out of out of the gate. Maybe 2015 style comeback is on tap. One can dream.
Hopefully if it cuts, it drags a CF through quickly and maybe get a little wave action on the front is it sits off shore. If not, things might get ugly.
It’s way out there is La la land but this is what you want to see. None of that primary heading for James Bay while praying for a redeveloper to squirt underneath crap.
It would go a long ways if the models showed a threat or two. Any of the globals for that matter. It's like the ensembles are singing "do you see what i see?" and the OP's are like "nope"...lol
You don't want to rely on a -NAO to save the winter but it is what it is. We'll ride it and see what happens. Hopefully we can get a bit of snow down for the holidays for festive appeal.
18hrs without power and counting. Internet and cell phone are dodgy. Minor damage here. Fence blew down and limbs fallen. Multiple gusts in the upper 50’s and low 60’s for most of the night. Hearing reports of heavy damage along the eastern shore of NS as well as the northumberland coast. Strong surge noted in those areas. Damage reports will be slow to come in but this was no slouch of a storm. Especially out east of here.
Lost power an hour ago. I’m gusting 95kmh or around 55mph. Still a while to go. Very heavy rain bands. I’m over 50mm (2”) and counting. Winds seem to be mixing down pretty good even inland where I’m at. Stormy night ahead.
My bet is Canso for eye landfall. It’s on the mainland but it might be best as the causeway might get damaged or even destroyed. Best of luck. I’m going to hunker down at home. Got too much to worry about here to go chasing this. I’m sure I’ll get sone decent winds and hvy rain.
