  1. WB 6Z GFS, anyone awake? Looks like it will be north this run, enough to matter don't know yet.
  2. It is cold enough to snow next week, if storm track would improve. To keep my hopes in check, sticking with a two weeks out approach. This week we have a weak clipper. Next week we have a southern storm with some potential to come north.
  3. WB 12Z GEFS, 10% chance of a major storm through Day 10.
  4. I like to keep it simple since I am stupid, for the next 5 days the only game in town is the midweek clipper. WB 12Z 12K NAM. Will trust in the snow gods for a BECS in the remaining 7 weeks or so of tracking.....
  5. I was disappointed in the entire EPS run but will wait for the experts. Seemed like a step back to me. Not much progression and trough weakening as it heads east. SER is holding tough. But it is just one run.
  6. WB 0Z Canadian v. GFS 1pm next Monday, models don't have a clue yet.
  7. WB latest GEFS extended, best control run in forever....
  8. I'm ecstatic that a storm could give heavy snow south of DC as early as February 5th, I will say it again, a week ago everyone was worried about whether it could get cold enough for snow even by the 10th.
  9. WB 12Z EPS. I will root for that low off our coast to be the dominant low...seems like the models are still trying to figure this one out..
  10. WB 12Z GEFS couple of big hits for the "Day 10" potential.
  11. It is going to be a very long month if we ( because I do it too) take anything too seriously beyond 5 days on the globals. They all do a poor job on details at that range.... let's see what EPS does...
  12. Latest EPS MJO appears to finally want to move again through 7 toward 8.
  13. WB 0Z EPS for the 5th. My big take: Great to see a potential snow storm on the east coast this early in February. Remember a week ago there was legitimate concern about how long it would take for the pattern to get cold enough again....
  14. WB 18Z GEFS low positions, still a lot of spread but the only thing to track over the next week....
  15. Everyone hates extended snow maps but when I see hits to the South and East I know at least it's not a shut the blinds pattern. WB 12Z GEFS.
  16. Perhaps the biggest story of the last 2 months is the drought busting amount of precipitation. Another widespread inch plus on the way over the next couple of days.
  17. Train ride home, the Potomac is shrouded in fog, really cool looking....
  18. I saw pages commenting on the EURO extended control snow maps, here is the latest....WB
