  1. One of the things I I'm truly looking forward to is when we do have something to track as far as a potential storm goes. I love the way everyone comes together, there's an excitement level that we're all feeling. All the worries and frustrations of past disappointments disappear. We all know it's going to happen, and I'm looking forward to it. I have a good feeling they'll be many opportunities to feel this way
  2. A while different comparison. Trees.. I would love the amount of snow they get, but they are the mountains... Different environment. I still love New England, especially the dynamics that we see here when it comes to the weather.
  3. Let the Mayhem begin. Already have Cliff jumpers and the season hasn't even started. That's okay, less people freaking out during the actual winter months. LOL
  4. I am perfectly ok with us not getting heavy Snow at this point. Winter ( Meteorological that is ) doesn't officially start until December. And.. There is some truth to having a lack luster Winter of we get Snow to early here in Southern New England. I am patiently waiting and positively optimistic for a good Winter for us here. Time will tell. Trying not to exaust myself to early with worrying about a storm ( Snow ) for early next week.
  5. Just happened to wake up around 1:30 and saw my first flakes. A nice light snow shower.
  6. I'm exactly the same way. Today was my third time doing the leaves. I'd rather keep up with it weekly then try to do it all in one Fell Swoop. There's no way that would work for me. Plus, I love the satisfying feeling of everything looking clean and kept once I'm done
  7. Yeah.. Was quite wet under the leaves, but as I blew them..they helped things dry out.
  8. Yeah, I would take this with a slice of salt LOL. I really don't trust either model Euro or GFS. In our state and Connecticut 1 meteorologist from a certain Network loves the Euro, where another meteorologist from a different network loves the GFS. It all comes down to as we get closer to the storm and as the models converge. It happens every year and probably what makes each other crazy. That's what makes it fun LOL
  9. It is quite mind boggling. Can drive a sane person insane I tell ya! Lol I will say this, the Euro tends to always have a warm bias, especially long range, so I always take their modeled temp forecasts for the upcoming months with a grain of salt. Thanks for your insight ( and as always ) your rather extensive vocabulary ( that I will admit I have to look up sometimes ). Just saying. ;-)
  10. Umm... November has always had flip flip seasons. Yes..we would see cold and raw conditions, but we've also seen mild conditions as well. Plus.. The wintry part of the month usually wouldn't be felt until after mid month as far as having more sustained cold. At least there is a change coming after Friday/Saturday, which both Gil Simmons & Bob Maxon ( 2 reputable Mets from 2 different stations here in Ct ) both alluded to, including the possibility of an upper level low system that may being rain & snow showers here Sunday/Monday. We shall see. Enjoy the warmer weather while you can my friends.
  11. Oh, that ended with the last several nights of 25 to 28 degrees here in Central and Northern Connecticut LOL. Having some 60s for the first half of this week is not going to make things grow again.
  12. Latest CFS for mid to late November showing signal for colder conditions for the Eastern areas. Been pretty consistant showing this. Could also help with the first snowfall around these parts as well. We'll see. ( can't post the latest map as it sais the file. Is to big? ).
  13. Right, but even having the same Central based event, there is bound to be some variability ( it will not be identical to last year). The hope is that some of the other side features that also play into what will happen will favor higher snowfall in a longer period of time. Time will tell though. I am starting to get primed up for whats to come though. Hoping we fall on the better side of the fence.
  14. 33.1 now with mostly snow mixed here in Plainville..about 500ft up.
  15. To sleep I go. 36 on the nose. We'll see what happens when I get up at 5.
  16. My temp.dropped a full degree in just 40 minutes and is now 36.9.
  17. Temp now at 37.9. I am more getting some pings with the rain. Hmmm. Very curious what it will be like when I check back in at around 12.
  18. So, from 30 minutes ago to now.. I watched my temperature drop from 46.6 to now 40!!! I found that quite a drop in a short period of time. I couldn't believe my eyes as I watched it while I was eating dinner. We'll see what that means for tomorrow morning

  20. So is it safe to say that we won't see any more accumulating snow in Southern New England? Bunch of snow in winter probably one of my favorite seasons, I'm done with the season and looking forward to spring and summer. Just not the heat and humidity LOL
