That will mean over a month between snow in most of SNE .. And most will be under 7”. No way in hell this turns around into even normal snowfall IMO
Ok.. so then this Winter will be below normal. What do you think we should do? Should we close the winter thread down?
From what you're saying, it doesn't seem viable to keep the forum going ( as far as the Winter season goes for us in the east ). I'd rather that than keep seeing you beat yourself up like you are.
Me myself... I'm staying on the forum. Something will come up to get us all back in the game. If not this Winter season than the next.

Three weeks is 21 days
Yeah, not sure where your info is from. It's not going to be 21 days though. I give it to the end of next week where we see the changes. About 10 days.

By the sounds of a bunch of you, you sound like whiny defeated children.
Winter has a ways to go. There will some winter and some surprises. A lot of you seem to want to have winter for the entire season of winter which never happens, especially in southern New England. Let's focus on what might happen and if this winter turns out to be a bust, it's a bust. There's always another year.
Now just wait for the fun comments from my post. Look at me something good to laugh about

Shut thread down.
I know, it's so sad. But it's all we got at this point.

Yeah it seems to be all or nothing now. It’s too bad because with some better luck we might have gotten a few SWFEs and clippers in this pattern. I love blizzards, but it would be nice to get more smaller events in between when the pattern isn’t favorable for a big one.
George.... I'm your biggest fan.
Don't give up that enthusiasm and dream big!! Yes..we may not get those big storms that you might post about, but no harm no foul.
And don't let anyone diminish your excitement ( but listen to what some of us have to say as it will only give you more wisdom as life goes on ).
Happy holidays bud!

Here comes. Pretty intense line of rain. Getting ready to come up to us, looks like there's a quick transition over to some snow right after. Winds already. Starting to gust again

Yea, I mean....I'm coming out of December with 1.5" given the pattern that just materialized....yhat is flat out sadistic, especially given how much the last several years have sucked here relative to other locales.
Anyway, still very much in on this season....happy holidays.
Happy holidays to you as well.

Think there may be a surprise 1-2” in spots
From your lips to God's ears. But as I've been saying, down on the south shore from Madison through Rhode Island, they have a good shot of getting two three inches. Inches. For them. We have to head your bets on some squalls giving us a coating

Still a shot at some garbage inverted terd, too....can never entirely close the door on those things.
I sent a little bitterness there lol
I completely get it. It's like a mouse trying to reach for that tiny little crumb. Something will come our way.

closer to what? what are you expecting?
Some possible flakes.... Yay!!!
Kidding. Maybe a light Snow event

Well, the longer we go without anything the better chance we have of having a huge Snow storm. At least I'm looking on the bright side lol

I thought we had a great chance at a big storm but my snow goggles blinded me again
George, don't apologize. There was a chance, and The fact there was a chance, I don't see anything wrong in what you did. A lot of you are kind of brutal when it comes to teasing him, although I know most of you are just having fun.
Seriousness, I think we all are looking for that storm to track where we all have big smiles on her face and are here for what we're coming here for which is a nice big snow storm. Go. Is he on the kid, I give him credit for? Even having the courage to start this thread. I'm sure plenty of you who have started a thread also saw that it hadn't come to fruition.
I guess we'll wait and see what happens with the next one.

So from what I'm hearing, some of you think we should just forget this year as it's going to be a bad year?
Now I know that's kind of ridiculous to say cuz we haven't even hit January yet. It just feels that way now because we hadn't had a good December. But when do we have a great December. Not very often

Doesnt quite get it done this run but damn that’s a big improvement. If the main system slows down enough that the 3rd piece in Montana phases we could see some crazy runs the next few days. Very excited to see the Euro tonight, good start to the 0z suite even if it’s not a hit yet.
George for once. I hope you are right with this one. Let's just hope that you're raw excitement and enthusiasm will get this one done.

NAM/HRRR definitely have trended toward a more impressive wind event in SNE. It may rock in some towns tomorrow AM.
I thought that winds weren't going to start up until tomorrow afternoon or night, with another round on Friday afternoon. Some strong ones tomorrow morning? Also, I'm bit surprised that there's just a wind advisory if we're expecting winds 50 to 65 mph? Do you think they'll upgrade the wind advisor to a high wind warning?

Well I think someone else said this is well, but there's really nothing else to track after this coming storm for tomorrow and Friday.
We're just picking at the scraps for now. Something really good will come, and this will all be forgotten.

Yeah came ashore and did minor damage. Pretty wild, but was on SE side of the low so you had enough shear and some low level CAPE.
Imagine, a snownado mixed with a Sharknado. That's the makings of a sci-fi movie. Lol

In order for that to work out, the best way would be +12-14 1/1-15 with a presumed -5 1/16-31. Definitely possible but the first half create crocuses up in mid month. An all out torch of +8 wire to wire is a lot tougher.
Ya know he's trying to get a ride out of anyone he can right?

Come on man. You should know yourself that this is not a sentence stone forecast. Right now. His thoughts are what he's putting up to. Just get us prepared. But to say this is written in stone. It's like saying we're getting a blizzard the day after. You should know better than anyone on here.

But who cares about snow in Morch…..It’tl be gone in 48 hours and by then who gives a shit about pack……pack building snows need to occur in December with the big boys in January and/or February……early February cuz by the end of February it’s pretty much cianara……I’m a big pack guy….you want deep pack wire to wire and lately it’s been pretty lol for that…..
Regardless of being in West Hartford, I'm actually about 12 miles west in Plainville. I would absolutely take a snowy march. It is true, we don't know. Normally have a deep pack situation where we are in the state, but we do get some good snows. So you may not want to get or care about getting snow in March, but much could be a very good month for snow as well. Not sure where we're talking about March when we're just in the third week of December lol.
Just felt the need to reply to a ridiculous statement

It's funny how people are jumping off bridges because of the warmth coming but the pattern is reshuffling .
Good thing is that the block looks like it's rebuilding and thats why next week has a shot.
Also LA Nina is on its last leg. Soon or later we will be going into a weak El Nino or neutral state .
I do agree that learning is starting to wane. I don't think we'll get into El nino before winters over. We do and can however get into a more neutral state as we head into late winter. That's just my thoughts now but of course things can change like the weather lol

Sipping pina coladas while swinging in our banana hammocks all the way up into NNE as we ring in 2023?! 12z GFS looks quite mild.
With all the changes that we've seen or the models were showing much colder weather and it not totally working out, there's no way we can take the models out 2 weeks from now and think that we're going into a super mild phase. There is going to be differences and changes and surprises. It's happened before and it will happen again
