Jer.. my man. I truly hope you’re right about a big middle of month on thru the end. Just super gunshy this year . Gut instinct tells me not to invest in these big ideas.

Listen.. I could truly see what you're saying, especially what happened last season. That took a lot of people ( and most Mets ) by surprise. But, this is not 2019/2020. It is ok to be prepared for the worst but also hope for the best. At least this year we are seeing things play out in the right direction. And hell, even if December turns out not to be a stellar snow month, I will still have faith that we will see a good, even awesome storm or two this season. There is really no telling exactly what will happen as the weather will do what it may, even with all the modeling available. But, I've also had my shares of surprises over my 48 years on this earth when it comes to to the weather. I for one will not go about it in a negative fashion. Here's hoping that this Winter will satisfy all!

You probably don’t know but all SNE sites avg a snowfall in Nov of various amounts

So... Great posts man. I love what you bring to the table. Appreciate all your optimism. This forum wouldn't be the same without you... Haha. I guess we need a few scrooges on here to keep it real. Can't wait until that first big one this season. Wont be long.

That storm was intense..but. It came ashore in New York City..and also had tropical charachteristica to it ( but was never classified that way ) and even had an eye. A little bit different of a storm as of this point..lol

  4. Happy Thanksgiving all. I hope this day helps you guys reflect on kindness, compassion, and just love the neighbor. I do like to come here to talk about the weather, but man.. You guys love to one up eachother on who is this and who is that. Who is passive aggressive, who is not. I started getting sucked into y'alls banter, but no mo3te for me. Just enjoy the day and realize why we need to start respecting one another. Now.. Back to the weather.

    Kevin is in your head..

You're right LOL. I guess I don't know him well enough haha. I'll look at it a different way. Let's hope the pattern will prove him wrong. Because I'm sure if it does work in our favor that he will be just as happy

I still don't see anything that encourages me to stray from my second week of Dec idea with respect to snow.

I'd say that's a fair assessment. Again, what bothers me is that Damage In Tolland sees nothing but a zonal pattern with no chances of snow or cold through all of December. That's a little ( lot ) extreme if you all me.

Well one can argue pessimism is more realistic vs optimism, if you believe long range models and forecasts for the season.  If you want optimism 24/7, you can always strap on your footie pajamas and log onto accuweather forums.

Most mets on here give their honest thoughts. If you want to follow them and weed out the noise, I’d suggest doing that.

Lol.  Accuweather forums are gone man... For quite sometime. Anyway.. The people I were referring to were Dr Dews and Damage in Tolland mostly, and I dont believe either are Mets. Anyway... I'm staying on. Once we get that first storm we can all track, I do believe the excitement level will erase all pessimism. :-)

All this over a days getting longer post?  Good thing LL isn't still here

No..it's not just that post... There were several that seemed that pecimistic and negative. No matter. I'm done with my rant. On to bigger and better things..

Good to use the block feature sometimes

Ya know.. I didn't even think of that. I have about 3 or 4 that is like to block. Lol. Ok.. I'm done with my rant. With Covid-19, it's nice to have an outlet of something I love too talk about. I guess that's why I'm extra sensitive this year.

<1 month away from sun angle ramping up

Is this supposed to be a forum of optimism or is it mostly negative pessimism. I'm about to ditch this forum. I've been on a few others and there is definitely more of discussions on what may happen for the Winter months with optimism. To many poeple on here like to " Poke the coals " and make this forum not an enjoyable place to discuss weather. Some of y'all are ruining it for the rest.

Okay.. But.. We seem to have model agreement from several of the big players that the Polar vortex will split, and from mid month December on, we could see some cold temps and possible snow events. Explain that one. And PS ... You're actually using the NWS and going with their forecast?? Okay..lol

  12. Just reminiscing through part winters... Winter of 1798... November 17th-21st. Blizzard bright 1-3 Ft from Virginia to Maine. They said the snow stayed on the ground until the following April in the entire region. Rivers froze in NYC.

  13. I'm thinking the fires that happened throughout Australia and also here in the western US, there has to be some effect on long term cooling in the upper atmosphere. In turn.. It should have an effect on pur weather as far as colder and Snowier Winters here in the US. The question is, will it effect the Eastern half this Winter or next?

  14. The way a lot of you are talking.... Maybe we should just camel this forum because it seems like Winter is finished before it ever started, several of your estimates. Or... All of you who are super negative could just leave and not come back on until spring... Let the rest of us who are optimistic enjoy each week as they come. To be honest.. It's not very enticing to come here to only hear all this Winter is over talk. So... Let's get some comments on who's staying and who's going. How's that for a topic.

Well. It's fun to see fantasy snow storms back in the models

At least it's showing this and not glc's like last year. Fingers crossed that we get something from this storm
