I can see why earlier minimums can be more common with very low sea ice numbers since all the easy ice to melt is long gone while in more normal extent years there would have still been some vulnerable ice farther from the core to melt out.
We already know the Earth is fine for humans being a couple degrees cooler, because it was before the industrial revolution! I think it's better than doing nothing because we are definitely screwing up the Earth now. Why not at least try to offset the warming effects? Status quo is simply unacceptable.
I told my wife the same thing. She asked me if it's going to be hot this summer and I told her it shouldn't. Then I told her we were also not supposed to get a crapload of snow either so take it for what's it worth.
