Wow! My girlfriend has a video from this event on video. She lived in Morgan County, TN and the snow looked super deep. It looked like nearly 2 feet on the ground honestly. I was shocked when I saw the video because I didn't remember such a big storm around then but it looked like at least as much snow as was on her March 93 blizzard video. Thanks for sharing this graphic so now I can have a visual reference for this event.

We uploaded a couple of the videos to YouTube unlisted so her family could view, but if someone wants to see them I could see if she'd let me share them. If not then I could share a screenshot at least. The Feb 1996 one I didn't upload though so I'll have to get the tape back from her.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. If it was not obvious, this was a bust of a little event. I spent the day on the plateau (mostly in Cumberland County) and saw a few flakes, but just nothing ever got going. Even the Cumberland mountains looked blanked.

But man, it looked like it really wanted to snow all day. The clouds and temps were perfect. Just no moisture or juice. Oh well!

We had a dusting between Crossville and Monterey that morning but it had pretty well melted by noon.

I would almost swear there's very wet snow falling here now mixed with rain. It's so hard to tell after dark. In these sorts of evaporative cooling situations sometimes I feel like you can get wet snow at onset of precip before it changes over to rain.

i would be very interested to see what @Shocker0 and @Knoxtron have right now.

It's 36 here but seems like mostly or all rain unfortunately

This is one of these systems that might lollipop somebody.  Three years ago the Plateau had a storm which was quite similar almost at the exact time of year.  We had a robotics tournament in Cookeville, and the Plateau had been hammered.

February 7, 2021, or a different one? That was one of the prettiest snows I've seen in Crossville on the trees

Outside of March ‘93, February’98 is probably my favorite winter weather event.  I lived just north of Cookeville at the time and remember snow mixing with the rain late afternoon and then changing to all snow by dark.  An unexpected foot of snow is always nice.  :)

We got almost three feet of (mostly unexpected) snow from that one in Southeast Kentucky (McCreary County). No power for two weeks and no school for three weeks. The National Guard had to come in to clear trees due to the weight of the snow. I believe they were only calling for 2-4" tops after it switched over from rain, but it switched way early. I also read where motorists were stranded on I-40 up Monterey Mountain in TN where they ended up with around 15"

Chiming in late, but my official west Knox county measurement was 7 inches.  That beats 2014 and 2015 for this location which were both around 6 inches.  It's possible January 2000 was higher, although I was traveling at the time and wasn't in West Knox to measure.  Regardless, this was an historic snowstorm for this area and it was a ton of fun watching the stars line up to really allow us to cash in in the central valley.  Helluva storm!  :guitar:

WBIR said it was the most single day accumulation in Knoxville proper since the 93 blizzard, almost 29 years to the day! Very impressive. I did think the February 2014 event might have been 7-8" in Knoxville but maybe not.
