Very windy here NW of Crossville and heavy rain with rumbles of thunder

I hope this is readable but a good county by county recap of this storm. @John1122 you may be interested in this. Using my newspapers.com account I can probably find other major snow event recaps in the area with dates (if they're in the Knoxville paper)
Here is the link if this is unreadable: https://pasteboard.co/RxK2yAe9BnVn.jpg

Wow! My girlfriend has a video from this event on video. She lived in Morgan County, TN and the snow looked super deep. It looked like nearly 2 feet on the ground honestly. I was shocked when I saw the video because I didn't remember such a big storm around then but it looked like at least as much snow as was on her March 93 blizzard video. Thanks for sharing this graphic so now I can have a visual reference for this event.
We uploaded a couple of the videos to YouTube unlisted so her family could view, but if someone wants to see them I could see if she'd let me share them. If not then I could share a screenshot at least. The Feb 1996 one I didn't upload though so I'll have to get the tape back from her.- 2

Snow here between Crossville and Monterey. The bad thing is my power has been out for three hours and counting now due to the wind I guess

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. If it was not obvious, this was a bust of a little event. I spent the day on the plateau (mostly in Cumberland County) and saw a few flakes, but just nothing ever got going. Even the Cumberland mountains looked blanked.
But man, it looked like it really wanted to snow all day. The clouds and temps were perfect. Just no moisture or juice. Oh well!
We had a dusting between Crossville and Monterey that morning but it had pretty well melted by noon.

Two of the three pine trees in my backyard blew over during this, here NW of Crossville. Power was out at my house for about 24 hours.

I would almost swear there's very wet snow falling here now mixed with rain. It's so hard to tell after dark. In these sorts of evaporative cooling situations sometimes I feel like you can get wet snow at onset of precip before it changes over to rain.
i would be very interested to see what @Shocker0 and @Knoxtron have right now.
It's 36 here but seems like mostly or all rain unfortunately

This is one of these systems that might lollipop somebody. Three years ago the Plateau had a storm which was quite similar almost at the exact time of year. We had a robotics tournament in Cookeville, and the Plateau had been hammered.
February 7, 2021, or a different one? That was one of the prettiest snows I've seen in Crossville on the trees

Most of what fell here at daybreak melted as it stopped snowing. Now it's coming down pretty good but tiny little pellet flakes

Light Dusting NW of Crossville already. Nothing on radar.

Outside of March ‘93, February’98 is probably my favorite winter weather event. I lived just north of Cookeville at the time and remember snow mixing with the rain late afternoon and then changing to all snow by dark. An unexpected foot of snow is always nice.
We got almost three feet of (mostly unexpected) snow from that one in Southeast Kentucky (McCreary County). No power for two weeks and no school for three weeks. The National Guard had to come in to clear trees due to the weight of the snow. I believe they were only calling for 2-4" tops after it switched over from rain, but it switched way early. I also read where motorists were stranded on I-40 up Monterey Mountain in TN where they ended up with around 15"

Cumberland Cove in Mayland (somewhat near Monterey) had some pretty areas today with snow on the trees. Second pic is Davy Crockett Campground west of Crossville (between Crossville/Monterey):

The ponds are frozen enough to stand on here already. I'm surprised they have snow cover since it only snowed for a couple hours. That would mean they had to freeze over fast. But then again it could've been from the dusting last night

We have some fine snow crystals that have been falling for the last couple of hours giving us another dusting so far. They are hard to see with the eyeball but I can see them on the security camera

Our high so far today NW of Crossville is -1. The Wind Chill has been consistently -20 or colder since this morning. I am happily staying indoors all day.

Around an inch about 10 miles NW of Crossville. Could be slightly less. Seems to be done now other than flurries. Down to 5° and feels like -15. The low IMBY is forecast to be -5° tonight. Brrr

The snow had no problems sticking to the roadway here despite raining literally minutes prior. My gauge shows 31, but TWC says 27.

They are like pop up storms. The wind kicks up and it rips for a few minutes over a smallish area.
Yep, that's how it looks on radar too. A little circle of heavy snow will affect part of a county and dump a quick dusting or more before weakening. Doesn't take long to melt either.

This happened in 5 minutes. Some of the snow showers are no joke tonight:

Chiming in late, but my official west Knox county measurement was 7 inches. That beats 2014 and 2015 for this location which were both around 6 inches. It's possible January 2000 was higher, although I was traveling at the time and wasn't in West Knox to measure. Regardless, this was an historic snowstorm for this area and it was a ton of fun watching the stars line up to really allow us to cash in in the central valley. Helluva storm!
WBIR said it was the most single day accumulation in Knoxville proper since the 93 blizzard, almost 29 years to the day! Very impressive. I did think the February 2014 event might have been 7-8" in Knoxville but maybe not.
