Heading up to Eelpout in Walker? Please pick up your trash, they’ve had big issues with people leaving literal tons of garbage out on the ice. I know slush on the lakes was a problem from the deep snowcover we’ve had since November, never developed a thick ice pack, glad to hear it’s gotten better. Looks like we may actually get a nice round of mod/heavy snow just in time for the evening commute.

NWS seems pretty bullish on snow potential for southern MN. Mentioned the possibility of thundersnow and a narrow band of warning criteria snow. 1.6” final call imby

24hrs ago it was -13 IMBY. Going to torch up to 33 today.

Looks like another I-90 special in MN. Maybe we can reel this in somewhat like last weeks storm.

Torched up to 1F this afternoon, already back down to -5F. Areas outside the metro will make a run for -20F tonight.

Minneapolis and St. Paul city schools are open but many suburban schools are closed. Quick check revels in Duluth where it’s presently -21F there are no closings. We are a hardy bunch in Minnesota. Also this type of weather typically happens annually

-11F air temp with a WC of -30F. Unsurprisingly work is having us stay inside today.

Pretty strange seeing Blizzard Warnings west of the metro and a WWA here for accumulations under an inch and blowing snow. Should be interesting watching conditions deteriorate today.

That high pressure is going to keep my furnace running all day Thursday. High and low of 2/-16 Good luck to those south of 42N. I need the snowpack to build up to damper any future warmups this way.

Up to 41” on the season now with 10” snow depth. Great skiing yesterday.

Finished with 5” imby in south minneapolis. Some of the fluffiest snow I can recall in awhile. It’ll be interested to see what the ratios are.

Absolutely incredible skiing today at Welch Village 12mi west of Red Wing MN. I’d estimate 8” with silver dollar flakes falling.

Going to be a large spread in totals across the TC metro. Southern burbs should cash in nicely. I think I’ll be sitting in a transition zone ~20 miles north of the better totals, but it’s close enough that model watching is useless at this point.

Hi res models and the GFS have shifted back north and put twin cities in line for heavier snow. I love chaos at the 11th hour

My call is going to bust high. Probably more like 1-3” in the metro

0.4” with the wave overnight, 1-1.5” in western suburbs and just a dusting northeast metro. Enough to freshen up the glacier.
