@beavis1729 I was always frustrated with the Chicago climo growing up so I moved north. Guess what, we’ve had 19” of snow this season and my backyard is bare just like yours. 

Not a good look for my neck of the woods. 

Forecast discussion has been copy and paste for the last week. 

I’ve been skiing since October 25th and have logged 4 days. Trollhaugen in Dresser WI was the first place in the lower 48 to open that day. My home hill (Welch Village) is finally is opening this weekend. Very lucky to have many options within an hour of my door.

Grew up skiing AV, Wilmot, Little Switzerland, Cascade, etc...that photo brings back memories. @luckyweather

I’ll take an ice box if it means the lakes can really freeze up and the ski hills can make more snow. 

Woke up to sunshine and 16 degrees.
 

Warm and dry is the theme for the first half of the month around these parts.

Just piles here and maybe a patch or two on a shaded north facing slope. 
 

snowpack really starts about 60-70 miles north of here 

18” of snow in October and November and now that we are entering true winter on the calendar nothing but zzzzzzzzz.

Took the dog out to a surprise 3/4” accumulation overnight.

After this mornings low of 17F a warming trend will be underway starting tonight. Should stay nice and mild through the holiday. 

Always good to have a NWS office with a sense of humor.

MSP is crushing it with 2.8” on the day from the legit snow squall.
 

17.6” on the books for the 20/21 season. Anyone else in the subforum besides maybe Will or Bo have more? 

0.8” at the noon observation, it’s been continuously snowing, although lighter rates now. Gonna end up around 1.5”-2” 

+SN for sure right now. Visibility under 100 yards. Doesn’t get much better then this 

Section of Interstate 94 is closed in NW metro due to multiple accidents including a jackknifed semi on fire.

Radars got that squall line look to it. Should be some impressive rates here later on this morning.

Spoils to the victor I guess. Sure hope we don’t pay for this early season luck later on.

Hopefully the first 1” accumulation of the year during first week of December is a big dog and you get it then. 

HRRR did a fairly good job at depicted where the mix line would setup. (Right over the heart of the metro)
