It's hilarious when you look at Snowfall reports across the BGM and BUF areas. Every county got a GREAT snowstorm with double digits and then you see Onondaga, and it's like "Eh."
Syracuse Synoptic Screw hole lives on. Oh, well... at least it's white out there.
That’s the spirit!

Picked up another 2 1/2” of fluff from a Lake Huron band just a few hours ago.

Took me 3 hours to dig out my grandma and aunt in Buffalo.
As stated many times today I don’t think I’ve had a snowpack this deep and this dense…probably because most of our bigger accumulation are from lake effect and it’s more “airy”. This stuff is going nowhere for some time to come.

Thoughts about a possible N'oreaster next Saturday ?
Euro has it, GFS doesn’t. Either way it’s more a typical Nor’ Easter track) as of now ear the bench mark

Had one last heavy burst that ended about 20 minutes ago. Storm total is 21.9” this was an incredible storm and one that will be remembered for those incredible rates last night.

Moderate snow has once again picked up in Williamsville. Might squeak out another inch or two?

KBUF is approaching 40” (if not slightly past that mark) for the month and has a run at 50” by months end. Not bad after such a crappy December

Just measured 22.2” in East Amherst on Transit near Clarence Center Road.
2 miles north from my house. This is an all timer. Currently in a lull between the band shifting east and the one just west of here over the Niagara river and Grand Island. Should get back into good returns soon! Are you working this way Devin?

All done here, I'd call it 9" for storm total as we've compacted some. Heaviest powdery snow I've ever seen.
January shaping up to have quite a big negative departure area wide, no? Frequent subzero nights on the horizon.
Just thinking that. We might go from a plus 5 or 6 at KBUF for December to a -4 or 5 in January

Agreed at this point I’m pulling for 2’. A little more than 5” away!

Are people staying home today? There’s a show on The Weather Channel here called Heavy Rescue 401 that basically follows heavy wreckers as they clear accidents on the 401 in Ontario. They state that the 401 in Toronto is the busiest highway in North America.
Love that show! I geek out on it every evening at 9

Models have been showing 10 to 1 ratios with this front end. Anyone guess what they actually are?
It’s about right. It’s 23 out and flake size is decent but it seems like a dense snow. It’s moderate to at times heavy but not in the best forcing just to our south.
