Agreed, unexpected but appreciated. Again, 2 separate December events this early in the season, I cannot recall.

Whatever we get, this is a great start. Two events in early December for RVA. Tempted to get a t-shirt that says Short Pump is a snow town for some posters in the main thread. DISCLAIMER - Knowing that they will get theirs, and as always when we get a real big one, they get even a bigger one. No real insult, snark or regional bias intended.

I am unsure, but maybe we held on above freezing a bit longer than others, a lot of asphalt to overcome down here. Back at my house in Tuckahoes, car top reports suggest 3". So, I am hoping for 5" there and maybe 3" in the city? Hard to say as I have not been watching radar returns, trying to work but still get caught up staring out the window like when I was a kid at Skipwith Elementary.

Yep, temp and rates seems to have found a sweeter spot downtown now. Awaiting, the HR liability email, sending folks home soon.

Finally getting to a point of "game on" in downtown. Grassy coating and less traveled, sides of streets, starting to cave.

While I do love snow, I would give it up to live by the ocean. It really is struggling to accumulate, even grassy areas have only begun to cave in downtown. I'm not sure we make that 3-5" range, hope I am wrong. Just feel like I have seen this movie before.

Change from light rain to pixie flakes in Downtown RVA. Hoping it should make for a nice scene on Kanawha Plaza, where they put the tree up and stuff, will post a pic, when it looks worthy.

They probably cancelled class to lick the wounds from Saturday. Man, that 96 yard drive was magic and then just to lose it in OT. I have been rooting for the Hoos since 76, but have kids at JMU, so I guess that helps the loss a bit, but only a bit.

I had to go down this road, stay strong and believe, you have my best hope and prayers. Positive mindset is stronger than anybody can measure.

Actually, RIC_Airport, who I think moved to Chicago and kept our little subforum going for a while, spearheaded them moving it. It's far more accurate now. The debacle of 1996, I think was the catalyst, but other events were so far off.

From your post to their ears. If you are ever betting on dates for early snow, 12/5 is always the sweet spot on the roulette wheel.

A lot of churn from Erin here in EI, not much wind, water has reached the dunes. Humid as hell and winds direction bringing the flies in force. Need to be on the beach for the breeze to be strong enough to fight them off.

Down in Emerald Isle for the week. Yesterday was gorgeous. Today, surf has picked up, chased some folks off the beach as tide has come in. Some weekend warrior boogie boarders have learned some valuable lessons.
