  1. 2-4" would put us at or over climo. So, not going to pout but still want to break through that 6" ceiling.
  2. Wow, am I the senior statesman? 55 years in RVA, specifically, the Tuckahoe area, with a break in the Fan and sometime in Glen Allen and Goochland for two years. I still think this has some legs, but I am a glutton for punishment.
  3. Yes, and I would love to break that streak. However, the early December snows, this storm and stretch of cold, this has been the most extended stretch of "winter look and feel" since 2015. I hope we get clobbered this weekend but also with @mikeeng92 and if we get some snow on snow (always feel dirty typing that) I am going to call this winter a raging success for RVA.
  4. Absolute mauling and beatdown. GFS requires it be taken with some major salt, if you can find some, check the bottom of your boots.
  5. Again, at least it is something to track. And, if our friends in the Tidewater get buried, I hold no ill will as this is the Richmond Metro and Hampton Roads subforum, not just RVA. But, if this comes to fruition like it is and they get buried, including Newport News, ldub cannot complain for two years about lack of snow.
  6. A little like curling without the little brooms
  7. I will say, numbers from Dominion are good. Actually down from the peak. Only 3,449 people out, again Richmond area under 100. I know we are early, but fingers crossed. Really don't feel like firing up generator and running extension cords to insure I can watch the games.
  8. Or shovel some of that concrete. I woke up with my back out from chopping wood yesterday, managed to shovel most of the walk, but where it drifted from a dormer, my side stoop stairway, up to a foot on the steps. Frequent breaks, but managed to get through it. Open door for pug (not in the avatar, that was Bogey my first boy) but Percy came out looked around and high tailed it back in, spoiled dog.
  9. First thing I noticed this morning over coffee, even before Frieden pointed it out, trees were bare, so it being a dry, pixie dust type of snow, likely will help. Yes, seems like dialing back on ice a bit. I am monitoring the Dominion map on my other screen to see if a pattern emerges, right now just ticked up to close to 3,500 out from 2,700 and number of projects doubled, but that is from a big swath with 2.8 million customers. Right now, majority of that is Newport News. Will monitor to see if a trend or march continues westward.
  10. Yeah, just moving the generator over to a more covered spot and this stuff is not easy to walk in. I could only imagine driving in it.
  11. Yeah agreed, Euro ahead of the storm and the NAM with the details, seems to be the norm.
  12. Yeah, I would guess plows hard to get it all. Anybody know what the peak snow measurement was before changeover? Maybe 2” like others, was hoping for more. HR crew, over to freezing rain yet? Everybody have power?
  13. In a hot tub watching the snow fall? If you have a cigar and bourbon, you are living my dream sir, well done.
  14. Nice rates now. 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch but heaviest snow ❄️ of the evening. I am not sure if it’s mixing or just the rate, but audibly loud falling, we get heavy snow so rarely, hard to tell.
  15. Picking up pace in Tuckahoe...pixie flakes, instant stick on the roads.
  16. NBC12 has cut back a tad as well, now 3-6" down from 4-8"
  17. It looks like a little lower or just a little refinement with their color bands. Feel like they had 4-6" for RVA earlier, now 2-4"
  18. Thanks for checking in! Always appreciate your posts from over the years, have learned a lot from you and the other red taggers, it makes it tolerable to put up with some the weenie posts and whining in the main thread, makes this a legitimate source for knowledge and awareness!
  19. Yeah, between storm prep, upset with the Hoos blowing a 16 point lead, so, prophetic that they had to move the Tony Bennett court dedication, as transition defense was absent in the second half. Finally, all things done here. Generator test run successful, provisions from yellow umbrella for easy dinners a couple of nights, takeout from Bistro 804 tonight. Slumming and drinking a decent cab from a box, but makers is my go to. Had some woodford reserve last night. Nice to see some energy in the RIC/HR thread, let's keep it going guys, so few of us and the main thread thinks DC is the COTU.
  20. Prepping for the worst. I am going to get two more 5 gallon gas cans, Mechanicsville Lowe's has them if you are looking. Nobody in my zip code does (23229). Then, going to Home Depot to pick up my grounding stake, wire and proper gauge extension cords for my generator. Have not used it yet, about time I got it ready and learned how.
  21. That would be just like PDII, have had that feeling since the get go.
  22. She should be fine, seems to be pushing to a later start, it was 6PM at our best forecast, but thinking it's looking more like 8PM or later now, and she should not be running into any of it along the way, as should reach here first before further up 95.
