  1. Hanging around 33-34 here. HRRR has come in a bit more concerning in the coming hours when it comes to icing.
  2. The area around Tues is becoming increasingly interesting, especially for those in KS/MO.
  3. RIP Joel Taylor from Storm Chasers. Bummed me out to hear that news tonight. 00z GFS still looks interesting for the upcoming Day 8-10 storm.
  4. -EPO wanting to come back. Not really getting any AO help.
  5. 85 degree temp difference in 4 days. EF-1 tornado near Mt. Vernon, MO last night.
  6. The MJO looks like it's going to go through the 'warm' phases until Feb. The CFS looks like it becomes more favorable in Feb. In the meantime, the troughing is probably going to shift farther to the west so storms may track to our west or NW. That's usually how it goes for this area though, storms track too far west, or too far east.
  7. Monett had around 3" a bit ago. Looks like probably still around 4-5" here.
  8. It's coming down good here. We've got at least 4-5". Doug Heady just updated and says some areas will see 6-9".
  9. Decent little snow here. Looks like at least 1" maybe.
  10. Looks like Winter Weather Advisory here for some light snow tonight. Another round of light snow on Monday.
  11. Beautiful freezing fog this morning. Everything looked like a frosty mug.
  12. There may be a brief respite as the cold air shifts east and things shuffle around a bit, but the 12z GEFS still has a -EPO in the long range which brings in more cold. This time it has troughing in the west.
  13. Looks like wx.graphics went mostly pay now. That's unfortunate.
  14. Yeah a bit of snow with that first moisture starved system.
  15. Euro took a step in the GFS direction for both the medium and long range.
  16. Sometimes, sometimes the GFS wins. The GFS is definitely sticking to its guns though, even in the longer range. Euro sticking to it's solution(s) as well.
  17. The Euro and GFS split really early on about what to do with energy diving down the backside of the trough. One will be wrong of course. The relevant area is over WA/ID. The Euro crushes it, the GFS doesn't. n the long term, the GFS and Euro are still split with the GFS wanting to rebuild the -EPO right it looks like and the Euro not having any of it.
  18. We will likely lose the -EPO at some point during the next 15 days. The cold air should stick around for a bit, either way, but there will probably be a new pattern emerging as we head into January and it looks like the troughing will be based more in the western and northwestern US.
