  1. And I take it JAWS would be a HECS...however one defines that (> 12", I'd guess, in that ballpark).
  2. It's still a solid pants tent level event for this area!!
  3. Yeah definitely. Like I said above a little earlier, not expecting a HECS per se (but would take one!). But I have to like how things look to be shaping up in terms of chances for a pretty decent event next weekend, in a broad sense.
  4. Are we getting into Folks, Jaws, @Bob Chill OMG surprise face territory?
  5. Agree...though of course if a HECS happens I'll absolutely take it! Right now, I have to like the position we're in for at least a decent event this upcoming weekend.
  6. I know exactly what you mean! My 5 year old is suddenly 21 and graduating U MD this upcoming spring semester. Where the hell did all that time go?! You really do look back on the "old times" which were fun and really do miss them. Can't get it back of course, but as long as you keep them in your mind and your heart (and many photos!), that's what matters. I have a picture of her during the December 2009 storm (she had just turned 6), with the snow nearly up to her waist!
  7. Afternoon measurement (around 3:00pm): 6.0". Waiting to see how much that can be topped off with the ULL bands. Went for a rather long Jebwalk to get some photos, when I suddenly realized that my right boot had somehow cracked with the sole dragging on the ground. Ugh!! I was a fair distance from home and managed to get back before the whole bottom came off!! Must have gotten brittle somehow, it was fine earlier when I was out. So my Jebwalk turned into a moonwalk!! Hope to post a couple of photos in the next day or so, when I have a chance to offload the images and process them some.
  8. This is the most appropriate response to a (bad!) pun, and the greatest compliment one can give!!
  9. Snowflakes may not repeat themselves, but the definitely can rime! (exiting stage right after a bad meteorological pun...!)
  10. Good morning all! About 4.5" at 7AM here in the Bethesda, MD area. Took some photos, will try to post some later when I have a chance (and hope to get more later on today as well)!
  11. We haven't been in the Jackpot Zone since the FDR administration!!!!
  12. Wow! Yeah, just gave a quick glance at the 00Z NAM and it looks quite good all around.
  13. Hahaha! I also remember that @mattie g, where you were making plans to come back to this area in time for that Jan. 2016 blizzard! I also remember the...uhhhh, how to put it..."guitar player" icon you used for your avatar during that event (he was strumming...something...that's for sure!)!!! (Was that REALLY almost exactly 9 years ago now?!?!)
  14. Heh!!! Well, I drank those as an old grad student (if there is such a thing)!!! But seriously, I like a good Manhattan, haven't had one in some time!
  15. A Manhattan with Makers Mark is amazing, by the way!!
  16. You could also say "lots of moisture with that event" too!! (sorry if that's too inappropriate, but since us guys are talking pants tents and all, well, whatever!!)
  17. Jan. 30 cold smoke MECS, Feb. 2 (ended early that morning) sort of MECS with an area-wide 5-6", then the two HECS events.
  18. Damn, that 12 day period from Jan. 30 through Feb. 10 was just unreal!!! 2 HECS-level events and 2 moderate MECS-level ones in that time!
  19. Sounds awesome!! Stay safe, and enjoy the snow!
  20. Watch out for those splinters! They can be nasty!!!
  21. I think the GFS drank all those margaritas that Randy had on Friday!! And some straight-up tequila afterward!
