  1. What we really need to do is covertly create a "winter medium range" thread. That way, all useless banter and sniping will magically transfer over there! Just like it did this past season! (That was dark snark, by the way!)
  2. Way to move goal posts from "young people" (which I'd take to imply anyone under about 30) to "kids" (which would imply minors only). And also just state things out of hand as fact while accusing others of being pedantic. Whatever. I don't think anyone argues who is more at risk and what age groups. But even younger people, it may not be so negligible a number as thought. And it's still higher than "just the flu". Plenty of younger people have other health or immune issues that can make them more at risk.
  3. Not looking too bad in a modest heel, there!
  4. After looking at this run a few times, I noticed the high-heel shoes!!
  5. Couple of photos from the America Strong flyover by the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds. This was right near Walter Reed Medical Center. Taken at 300mm focal length, then cropped.
  6. And hard to believe that many years ago the Panic Room was but a gleam in the eye-socket of the Reaper's skull!
  7. I know, right??? I remember long ago in college, one would know what day of the week it was by the particular specials they had at this place across from the graduate housing I lived in at the time (called "The Pub"...so imaginative!). Usually had those Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun, and usually it was for crap beer. But hey, you're in college, so who cares right?! Not that I went every night, mind you. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
  8. You need to open early, at least just for Ji! He'll be squatting outside, waiting for his usual room, shortly after Halloween!
  9. Gotta say, that...thing...you posted earlier had a @ravensrule joke written all over it!
  10. Ahhh, thank you for taking our minds off that abomination posted earlier! And thankfully, no Vienna sausages or Spaghetti-os involved!!
  11. I cannot wait to hear what she would have to say about that..."recipe"!! (Then hopefully post a photo of something really good!)
  12. I just...no, not going there... There are no words!
  13. As a Fed myself, you pretty well said what I wanted to say...much more effectively and succinctly! Thanks! (ETA: Well, the quote of your comment starred-out the "F" bomb for some reason, but anyhow!)
  14. Wow, can you be more insulting, smug, and trollish to a large number of people? And "real Americans", are you kidding me? Like only certain people are?
  15. Only thing surprising about the comment is that @ravensrule didn't make it first!
  16. Well, being part Bastard-Irish myself (that's Scots-Irish to most people!), I approve!
  17. Quite the fine looking three-some!
  18. No longer Russian...but now Irish!!
  19. As always...thanks for the updates!!
  20. This is very true. My cynical side says that concern for those in poverty or on the low end of the wage scale only shows up when it affects those financially much better off (and the companies that hire the workers). Such as during this COVID emergency. And even then, it's only a tacit acknowledgement. NOW there's concern, because businesses are losing money or supplies are short...with a "voice" of concern for those who cannot work due to shut downs. Yet no concern for living wage, sick leave, etc., in relatively better times. And even now, in this current situation...there are apparently some states contemplating that they will "require" certain industries to re-open, while stating that those employees who are nervous about going back and refuse, will be deemed as "voluntarily" not working. And they will thus be ineligible for unemployment benefits. That is truly sh*tty and back-handed. Really low. So yeah, where's the "concern" for those who are having it the roughest economically?
  21. Good thinking. My brother has a big freezer in his basement and does something similar. He's gone to a local butcher (in the Cleveland area) who sells stuff in bulk or large quantities, pre-cut. So for instance he can get fillets or chicken breasts and the like for relatively cheaper than you'd buy in the store, but he buys a lot of them. He vacuum packs and freezes that, and it keeps quite awhile in that freezer.
