  1. See that blanked area? Yes that one east of the apps. Did you know those folks had over a foot of rain the past month??
  2. @Hvward, I can’t remember how the models progressed during that Dec 2017 storm but do I recall it being basically a non-event until the short range came into view?
  3. Unfortunately I live in the foothills, so Mt. Mitchell pulls off many things I can’t
  4. I creep on your thread because the discussion is always so good and in-depth. Just wanted to drop in and say I’m happy for you guys. Reel these storms in and take plenty of pics for your brethren east of the Apps that can’t make a thing happen.
  5. It’s my dream to get an airbnb in the tug hills during a lake effect event. Gonna make it happen someday
  6. Hey if there’s a bright side, it’ll be a great spring to chase trout
  7. If our winters were a person: Looks promising on the surface but devolves into the the worst possible series of events quickly
  8. Mother Nature truly said “I fixed your drought and that’s all you’ll get”
  9. Let’s be honest, we haven’t had a nino all winter. The pattern hasn’t reflected it in the slightest.
  10. If I’m rewarded with a cold spring after this crappy winter, I’m going to lose my mind. When we hit March 1st, I want the torch to end all torches.
  11. Gonna be hilarious if it flips to what the GFS was showing previously
  12. Look at the Canadian if you’d like to throw up
  13. That’s 5 in a week. We’re doing better than Krispy Kreme
  14. This will present some challenges for the grid on the east coast. Stock your fire wood and make sure you have propane or heating oil if you use it.
  15. Happy for them. The Volunteers dont typically put together a lot of wins.
  16. Tennessee Valley is staring down the barrel of getting blasted two times in one week
  17. Yep this is far from over. The energy isn’t even onshore and we have a massive storm system to work through today before the models get clarity. I wouldn’t exactly expect the models to nail an overrunning event 3+ days out anyways.
  18. It’s kinda hilarious we’ve measured rain in feet for weeks and now the moisture is nowhere to be found
  19. Not fun but let’s see what the ensemble’s say
  20. I’m afraid of that look for the escarpment. It screams steady light freezing rain potential.
  21. Another good run for the pieces of energy, it just didn’t translate to the surface map like we would hope
