I would say everything is on the table . There are zero certainties this winter. As a resort , which ones does it make financial sense for to shut down lodges, hotels / condos and leave the lifts spinning..are their any? I could see that coming when people are sneezing in every long line indoors this winter . The ones like Cannon and Wildcat probably see the most money as a percentage of total operations from their season pass holders as they don’t have much else going on besides selling beers and burgers . Thou if they aren’t owned by the big wigs they may not Have the $$ Cushion to handle a down year . Powder freak , any thoughts .

My hope is to be able to ski NH for the full season and hopefully stay up north for any large snow storms where i'm able. As far as that goes or especially out of state skiing ..i'm not very optimistic but i just don't see lodges being open past New Years. Just let the coughing begin, the news will smell the fear and report endlessly as fear sells clicks and 1/4 the population will go back into a state of news induced paralysis . What remains of the economy in April should be fun to see. I don't know that cases will soar, they may but the fear of any cough being covid seems baked into the cake . That's my base case scenario as Covid 19 response , just has too much potential to facilitate some pain that will facilitate future change that seems to be tied into other societal, climate, economic-technotronic and Covid group think solutions.(that may not otherwise be agreed upon w out various issues being magnified and all will seem fine with public when they camp out in front of the news all day all day, encouraging folks into what are acceptable/preferred ideas. The Global economic forum head Klaus Schwab is just very vocal , open and optimistic about these issue being in the forefront of the public mind and it works into the media's mindset for ratings to leverage these issues all day long perpetually, not to sound nefarious just sort of what is . He wrote a book called the great reset which is a pretty straight forward look into shaping the future in a sustainable way and covid's role. I would avoid the knee-jerk conspiratorial perspectives/ ideas ...thats not my angle..and read the actual book, i just believe this is a noteworthy possibility not a lock. Shaping society and governance over 7 billion people can not always be straight forward, transparent and done without significant suffering. It is worth noting the World Economic Forum often has lofty goals and ideas that move much slower or not at all, it just seems public perception and attention is aligned much better now for ...progress

Hit a bucket at patriot golf course in Bedford , Ma today . Sun , zero breeze, sweat out of all orfices . Range goes to 270 , then net . Hit roof of building behind net several times . It’s the little things in life . Wish I got a T time today .

I believe that is certainly a possibility... i know it seems a bit "out there" given we are now a bit more relaxed and enjoying the summer but i would not discount it when Flu symptoms spook folks . Should MLB cancel and the NFL Cancel....and Schools be mostly remote learning which i don't believe will be far fetched before Thanksgiving..it would seem not so far fetched....to make a stay at home order part 2 (last time just for a couple months- till the vaccine is ready) not a shock. Melbourne, Australia just did.

This sentence highlights what i meant, simply the path of least resistance is people making their decisions base more so on safest possible than "is this necessary". That can certainly be debated...my point was just that "is this necessary" sort of takes a back seat once once someone makes the first decision to close , bc then there is pressure for other to follow due to perception of not. To close resorts is one thing ..to close the outdoor hiking up a mountain on your own and skiing down is asinine and exhibit A.

Ran into my buddy at grocery store yesterday . He works at Ken Jones Ski mart in Manchester . Believe he said they begin getting ski’s resdy today. He was curious if the shop was going to cut the season ski passes they give employees . He was talking about a giant supply disruption from manufacturers regarding new skis for this upcoming season. I was mentioning to him about NH needing a big natural snow year bc I just don’t see how they will go forward w regular snow making plans . They may say otherwise now , but the reality of the situation is ...politically correct panic lurks right below the surface . What I mean is as soon as Flu season gets underway , and people in public actually produce symptoms consistent w Covid (they aren’t necessarily distinguishable) that every single flu sniffle and cough will be met w a different sort of level of concern (that will surprise people) and this on top of the current backdrop will result in doing everything to be safe , especially with the hope that a vaccine is around the corner (in spring ) , That will probably mean whoever shuts down the most will appear to be doing the best job to be “safe”. The media will play its usual role to not miss a opportunity to “inform/ frighten” people and enhance this response. The stage is more than set. .02 cents I certainly could be wrong , In particular if the country is seeing falling Covid cases from a decently low point that would be very helpful as flu season kicks in, that would be my big hope for people’s health and businesses.

He’s obviously competitive and pretty dang good. He also ( I would guess) may have a mental hurdle or glitch of confidence when he picks up the driver ? and it had cost him enough in his overall score to can it .

Not to take up the thread but it’s not far from my drive -swing on Golf course . I have to be in the zone otherwise there isn’t much room for error as I nearly leave my feet as I rotate thru ball and yes this somehow went straight

I can carry 300 on my best ...this is Almost exclusive to driving range where I really get a good hip rotation and accelerate my hips thru ball. My friend took a cool slow mo vid of my swing on one of those drives and I was somewhat lucky it went straight. I also love to do the sort of of one step Happy Gilmore / David Ortiz like Home run swing at the range , it’s just fun lol

Old Scotland links in Bridgwater I went our w my Gf and her son and the first hole was frightening even with 2 carts . So I suggested we switch to best ball and that did the job.

Played Stow Country club (Mass) 9 holes. My favorite golf weather . Mid 60’s and dry with a breeze Course was decent

His swing didn’t have That disaster mid swing stop/hitch , but his drive off the T with a shorter more compact swing was a utter disaster on that hole The 9 in New market were a blast ..we played best ball and just had fun. A few of my drives cleared 300. In a best ball I’m useful off the T , otherwise hit and miss ..depending on competition level. There was a tournament I played in couple years ago in that area (I got the longest drive and not much else lol) , the driving range went to 250 and then there was a big net behind that ..and behind that was a small parking lot followed by a police station w what sounded like a tin roof (when hit ) . That was a blast . Definitely going out again soon to play another Round. Golf may just turn out to be the most popular sport this summer
