Hard to believe we are now 5 days & less especially for the west part of the state till this storm hits. We still have the Friday storm though. It could throw a wrench in the whole system. Glad we are all getting some good rains. They were much needed to put a dent in the drought.

One thing concerning is the cold that TX is going to also endure. Dallas 10 degrees. Ouch.

Is the tri cities really getting left out?

24-hour ratio map. I don't believe the barren spot down toward the southern valley. But great map otherwise and up for every from 12 and 18z.

That’s weird…. When I go below freezing on Sunday afternoon, I don’t go back above freezing for a week and I’m in the valley.
.A lot of different forecast out there. I was just looking at several. It’s funny. I know most are crap shoots. Majority has it cold but very little snow.

Looks like this coming weekend is going to be several degrees warmer the forecast shows plus by end of next week back up to mid 40’s. Looks like a 3-4 day cold shot & it retreats. The MJO is king.

Wonder how that crow tastes since they are the ones that put out that snowmageddon info yesterday?I’d rather them not call for it. Thats when we usually get more snow.

Channel 4 here has scaled way back. Some are now saying hardly any snow. Hilarious how the pendulum swings. If no snow I do hope this cold spell is very short lived. I will cover my new landscaping hoping to save it. Cold & dry can get lost for all I care. Working in it sucks.

I will take 3-6” anytime any day in the winter. So many not happy it’s not showing a foot. Not here just other places. That amount with the temps will be bad enough. It won’t melt. If we get a lot more then it will cripple the area with the temps coming behind it.

Maybe this is a trend to dump majority of cold out west. MJO for the win?
UKIE still dumps out west.

Cold & dry with some dandruff sprinkled around is normal most of the times around here. Euro is king & says enjoy your dry & cold Nashville.
channel 4 going to regret their weather alert. Lol.

BTW not related to the coming event but Gatlinburg is blaring warning sirens with loud speaker messages asking people to seek higher ground.

Wow, that GFS run might be the coldest 8-10 day stretch of weather I can remember seeing modeled for SWVA. We don't break freezing from Jan 13ish to beyond Jan 22ish
The warm up really might be a warm up to above freezing. Lol.
-
At least we are getting some much needed rains no matter the outcome.

Assuming that’s WSMV they’ve really deviated from the old days of Bill Hall and the Snow Bird report.
It is WSMV.

I have not watched any of the game. Saw a score. Looks like there will be an asterisk by this title win plus chances are high it will be stripped along with many wins from cheating Harbaugh. He will leave MI in a mess.

Curious what is the Icon model for? Also do they still use the NBM any? Think it was called National Blend Model.

Tracking is literally why this forum was created. I hope folks have a blast tracking. That is why many of us worked to form this forum many years ago. We split-off from the southeast forum. I do know that in the past, many have gotten burned tracking at 7+ days. I know I have. We have tracked storms for 5 days only to have it vanish with a couple of days to go. It is worth restating from time to time that things are going to change between now and next Tuesday. One thing this forum has always been know for is keeping a level head.
Love this forum. Great input & learning & lots of great laughs! This possible winter storm is now showing to possibly to begin Sunday afternoon in the western parts of the state. So for them it’s under 6 days!!! lol. What could go wrong! ALOT!

Wouldn’t be surprised to see some clipper action pop up on modeling after the passage of the system on the 15th & 16th. That’s some stout cold coming down.
Been sometime since we have had one of those Alberta clippers.
