I’m gonna take the under on this storm especially after this week with the models. I’m especially gonna take the under for the city. if I walk away with close to 4 inches in Westchester, I’ll be pleasantly surprised. If I walk away with more than 4 inches I’m gonna be shocked.

This. Marginal events dont do well in NYC. Too close to coast, flat terrain, too much cement. Im 30 miles north and today still woefully under performed. They will find a map that they love and run with it, but it doesnt change the outcome. And let’s face it, that .5 in CPK this morning was a BS measurement

Much different when you leave the city. When I lived in Queens, I got in the car and drove around in snow. We moved up to Westchester and it was snowing for around an hour, I decided to go to Home Depot. I got as far as the main road and was caught in pandemonium. Its the steep hills, the increased elevation and the lack of HUGE amounts of pre salt. Schools often close up here has 1-3 in hills is much worse than 1-3 on grassy surfaces in the Urban Jungle

I don’t understand why we keep talking about storms two weeks from now. There’s snow coming in tomorrow night. There may be more snow on Sunday. There are real events at our doorstep and we are chasing phantom possibilities on the 16th that can only lead to disappointment. I dont get the psychology behind it. In my experience on here, if you are looking at a perfect setup 10 plus days out…it isnt going to work out as depicted

light snow falling this morning. If you remember 1994 we had a really snowy January and a lot of the news reports were saying that February was gonna be milder with a lot less snow. Obviously, that didn’t happen. But it was funny the same people that canceled winter in 2025 were also busy doing it in 1994.
