    how long did it last? I read back and it sounds like the hail lasted for 10 min and the storm itself went on for about half an hour?

    it isn't that cut and dry..... I remember it being mentioned here before...specifically with coastal storms that develop rapidly along the warm gulf stream waters and have convection associated with them, small hail can occur. Weak tornadoes can occur with such storms too. One winter storm that comes to mind that had small hail and even a waterspout just off the south shore was the late Jan 2011 storm at the beginning of its second phase.

    this may be one type of set up where the south shore cashes in.

    China is a cesspool of pollution and corruption. I have good examples of how a government should work- like New Zealand, Norway, Finland, and a few others. What they all have in common is no dirty money in politics and swift responses to emergencies.

    it's about being scientifically literate. and it's the future, and although there is push back from the older generation, these changes are absolutely necessary. The history of humanity is that it is very late in making necessary changes and that has dire consequences. Either we make the changes or nature will make the changes for us, and her way will be MUCH harsher. On the positive side, the greatest reforms often happen after pandemics and other great tragedies like this....and this wont be any different.

    wow small hail now even though the sky has brightened up some it's now pouring even harder

    not missing much, it isn't raining here just constant lightning. I guess we aren't seeing that vivid sunset tonight.
