  1. I turned on the a/c to get rid of the humidity and the allergens. Come up with a plan to nuke all back door fronts and I'll back you financially
  2. my house temp was 83.4 this afternoon the a/c needed to be turned on. No way no how would I -EVER- open the windows the allergens are awful and humidity is my mortal enemy. If I could invent an antimatter bomb to annihilate all humidity I would do so in a heartbeat.
  3. You're not supposed to have this in October, October is historically the sunniest month of the year. This is a spring time pattern (or November pattern)
  4. the allergies are horrendous so I turned my a/c on full blast I hate humidity, this is the first climate engineering humanity needs to do, get the humid air the hell out of here
  5. I turned on the a/c today not because it was hot or anything but the allergens were HORRIBLE today it always happens to me when it's cloudy and humid and dreary like this and turning the a/c on is the only thing that helps
  6. the reason I like this weather is I dont have to turn my heat on.
  7. it is but we were right around 80 here yesterday too
  8. fine by me, I dont want to turn any heat on until november
  9. I dont see how an easterly wind is going to make us all that cold at all, the water temp is still in the 70s
  10. Massive oil spill sends crude onto Orange County beaches, killing birds, marine life The leak, which officials say began Saturday, has poured 126,000 gallons into the coastal waters. At sunrise Sunday, oil was on the sand in some parts of Huntington Beach with slicks visible in the ocean as well prompting officials to close a stretch of sand from the pier to the Newport Beach city line. Dead birds and fish had begun to wash up on the shore, officials said. https://twitter.com/i/events/1444691884513710083 https://twitter.com/i/events/1444710921109217284
  11. anyone thinking next week is going to somehow be cool is sorely mistaken
  12. uhm it feels like summer right now and this is awesome, I can do without the 60s thats too cold for me, around 75 during the day and 60 at night is perfect and thats what we will have.
  13. albedo is 0.5% less which is pretty shocking. we need geoengineering like yesterday, unless we proactively alter our planet's climate system no passive behavior will ever be enough. It might get to the point where we need to start thinking of dusting up the atmosphere ourselves.
  14. I saw a graph posted today on TWC that was supposedly from the CPC that indicated that although they are predicting warmer than normal temps for us for October (greatest warmth centered over the Midwest), they are also predicting drier than normal for the NE.
  15. People should just use their local airports and just forget about other locations that have a different climate. For me, it's JFK. For you it's ISP. For Tony it's EWR. Why do people have to argue about temps about regions in microclimates outside their own?
  16. This is exactly how I feel....I dont want cold weather until winter 75 by day and 60 by night is ideal
  17. I was miserable this morning, thats too cold for me without turning my heat on. Glad that we're about to warm up
  18. I'm all for it, Don. Last night was way too cold for me and I was miserable this morning. I think a lot of people actually want warmer falls-- which is one reason why ACC can't get much traction, because a lot of people actually want a warmer climate.
  19. I will be honest with you. Last night I was uncomfortable. That was too cold for me. And it was around 50 here. It got to 38 at Westhampton I think? Anyway my tolerance for cold weather is low this time of year. I want temps in the mid 70s for highs and around 60 or upper 50s for lows. Last night was just too cold for me and this morning it was literally painful for me to walk on my floors because they were so cold. The tiled parts anyway.
  20. I was thinking of forward thinking benevolent dictators.....how about Justinian? I'm not even sure you could call him a dictator, but he was an amazing person, more forward thinking than most so-called leaders we have today.
  21. Yes I quite agree, and there is no real exit strategy out of one. I thought AI could do it benevolently, but I wouldn't be shocked if AI acquired some human-like deficiencies. After all, it is programmed to learn from humans.....
  22. https://twitter.com/i/events/1443576511282302979 So advertisers dont want their products advertised when climate change news is aired? This explains why we hear and see so little about climate change in conventional media
