  1. I wouldnt mind another Jan 1994 that was awesome. So was VD07. I'd prefer snow of course. But I dont want it to -ever- rain in winter.
  2. For us too, glad to be done with those inland winters for now anyway
  3. Maybe Syracuse? A nice college town.
  4. No noreasters there. If you're looking at CT there are some very snowy locations in CT with elevation (like Norfolk) or you can go farther east and catch the late blooming ones but don't go east of about New Haven County or Chester. The further away from the Sound the better.
  5. Especially with the long duration of the ice, it doesn't even have to be heavy, this light glaze like precip is the most treacherous
  6. so total snowfall amt not that much but frequent small storms and lots of cold to keep it sticking around ? 68-69 did have the one big storm that dropped 20" at JFK and LGA.
  7. I always imagined this rare scenario where it is snowing outside my bedroom window but when I go downstairs it is raining. Or that tree tops are covered in snow but it changes to rain just before reaching ground level. I wonder if this is possible? I have heard of one house experiencing a thundershower and the next town over not getting a single drop....the rain has to stop somewhere right?
  8. Could you imagine one part of your postage stamp getting rain and the other part getting snow rclab?!
  9. it was basically like two different seasons in adjacent boroughs lol, if it was snowing where it was in the 30s you could have a foot of snow in one borough and an inch of rain in another
  10. why did this front take so long to come through?
  11. but still not a lot of snow in either of those years
  12. I haven't checked but I take it JFK hasn't hit 32 yet? What are you doing in NW Nassau lol
  13. This is how its going to be otherwise no one would ever come to these subforums lol
  14. Southern Poconos near Lake Harmony. Really nice area, about 2200 ft up. Halfway between Allentown and Mt Pocono.
  15. I see that 68-69 was 50less across the board in the city....but I'm confused about 62-63, how is it tied at JFK but not even in the top 15 at NYC? and wow 2015 is the only recent year in the top 15
  16. ninas after ninos are our best winters, second year ninas not so much
  17. wow helps that JFK and LGA have shorter periods of records, because NYC's record is from a different era. so this is amazing in 62-63 and 68-69 we basically went the entire winter without ever hitting 50? How is it we didn't get more snow in either of those years? and did NYC also go the entire winter without hitting 50 in those years, Don?
  18. Don what are the longest time periods we've gone without a high of 50? Sounds like this streak was 30 days plus (more than one full month).
  19. wow sounds like horrible driving conditions the next morning (I assume it was over by then)?
  20. Was this the big one in Feb 1996? I remember there being another one that dropped close to a foot, was that around the 11-12th?
