Thanks Tony, three in a row has only happened twice there, in 1948 if I remember correctly and in 1966. In July 2010 it was 3 days out of 4, July 4, 6 and 7..... I forget if the one in 1948 was in July or August.....

Yes, 1966 had a truly epic summer, how many 100+ degree days did JFK have that year, did they match 1948 and 2010 for 3 100+ degree days, Chris?? It sounds like that kind of heat is unlikely but we could get something like 2011 which had a very wet year, but the rain stopped for 2 weeks in late July to make that intense heat possible.

when are we going to get a stuck pattern when it's completely dry for multiple weeks like last October - mid November? That's what we really need.

Hopefully it will also dry out here and give us a dry hot summer with less than 2 inches of rain during the summer months (J/A at least.)

Yes, for the ocean, not for where we live. And even if that happens, it will happen after it's already hit 90. I looked at the hautographs, it shows a SW wind over the ocean and a westerly wind over land (including here).

The wind on Thursday will be a strong downslope wind and there will be little to no haze so those *hot* spots may include the south shore of Long Island, we could hit 90 here.

Here too, in and out of clouds, but currently the sun is out! I guess that call of the sun coming out between 3-4 pm turned out to be right! High temperature was 81 here at 6:10 pm

Yep, it's a dark star right now, but it looks like the skies are brightening up, so we might have seen the last of the rain. The sun is about to peak through the clouds..... 1:23 pm

it's been raining pretty hard here in SW LI this afternoon which no forecast had that I saw, everyone said the rain would end this morning.
