  1. cloud forecasts must be taken with a grain of salt, it's been sunny all afternoon today! Lee Goldberg just said Monday will be very similar to today!
  2. Watertown! Which is also near the center line.
  3. That's what I'm thinking too, and it really depends where in NY. Also, they can't even properly predicts cloud day of and today's sunny day is a perfect example of that. I just heard Lee Goldberg say that Monday will be very similar to today.
  4. It's possible, the cloud maps I just looked at showed a clear bubble over Western NY with clouds to the east over Syracuse... then again take everything with a grain of salt, it's been completely sunny for hours now-- no forecast had this!
  5. New England is better-- like Maine. Syracuse looks like it might be in doubt for this eclipse.
  6. even down by Syracuse the forecast is for 6 more inches of snow
  7. we'll be happy as long as there is sun. I'm serious about climate modification, we really need it now to stop endless rain. there's sun today so I don't trust any of these forecasts-- who predicted blue skies and sunshine for today?
  8. this map doesn't show rainfall .... without the sun warm temperatures are useless.
  9. at this point we need climate modification to stop this useless endless rain.
  10. it's bright and sunny here now with lots of blue skies lol-- so much for cloud cover forecasts, they can't even get it right on the same day!
  11. cloud cover forecasts are subject to change, even on the day of the eclipse. The sun came out here and I see lots of blue skies here today and there wasn't supposed to be any sun here until Sunday.
  12. Yeah I have a few cameras but this is my newest so I'm bringing it.
  13. it's a Panasonic FZ300 I selected it for 4K video as well as good telephoto (constant f/2.8 lens)
  14. during totality it's perfectly safe, but not during the partial phases. I bought this double filter system to take pictures, one filter blocks 99.999% of all visible light and the other one blocks all UV and all IR.
  15. ultra violet rays man, they can penetrate the skull.... (jk)
  16. Beware that the forecast is quickly changing, you're better off in Vermont, looks like both Syracuse and Watertown will be close to the cloud line and the trend isn't good.
  17. But if you go by the numbers we had hotter years (more 90 degree days) back in the 90s-- certainly more record number of 90 degree day summers. I guess record warmth is more about the mins now, all the excessive rainfall is blunting record highs now. All this excessive rainfall is worse than record heat, flooding kills more people than heat does, and also results in the spread of disease (via mosquitoes) and results in the buildup of toxic mold and higher rates of allergies.
  18. Someone needs to tell Greenskeeper ;-) did you notice how he never posts and goes into every forum and weenies 90% of the forum lol? He does have the intellect to be the perfect hot dog vendor.
  19. Looks like that trough is moving east more quickly, this might be better for Texas and Arkansas and worse for us (but still good northeast of here)
  20. are the models becoming worse now for the same reason they were bad all winter?
  21. I really wish these solar eclipses happened much more often. Maybe the ESA idea of putting a large spacecraft in orbit to create artificial eclipses could be the solution to let more people see them.
  22. is it because the trough is moving east more quickly than earlier forecast?
  23. in OT lol, I mean in Syracuse it's still something like 46% chance of clouds, but trending worse?
