  1. snowing heavily in Waterford would get up and measure but I lost my yard stick and haven't gotten the chance to steal one from the hardware store yet
  2. Schools already closing in anticipation for this event
  3. Flew into Bishop from Nashville this evening (pretty smooth flight given the circumstances). Probably under 2" on the ground at FNT when we landed around 9:45 but boy was it a slick drive home. Took an hour to get to Waterford from the airport via 75 and Dixie Hwy. Kept it around 40mph the whole way to Exit 93; two tracks at best on the interstate and snow-covered mainline roads. Still barfing snow out, NWS DTX reported 3.1" at 1AM in White Lake, I'll go out and measure in a bit after this titillating ND/Stanford game
  4. today, there was quite the weather: • Shallow fog along my work route, was pretty! • A cloud! Or two! Maybe a 3 mph wind gust! • Miniature dust storm from golf carts driving around. That dude towing the pontoon must've been pissed! I could bitch about boring weather, but instead I'm putting these days in my Wx Spank Bank™ because January will be here before you know it.
  5. haven't mowed my lawn in probably two weeks - it would be mostly running over walnuts anyway. seeing lots of trees starting to pop with color, especially near the lakes on my way to work in the morning. patchy fog has been the most exciting part of the past five days otherwise.
  6. speaking of KARB (and notwithstanding missing a previous discussion about this) isn't that always an abnormally cold spot because its in a valley?
  7. with this evening's frontal boundary convection almost done working through, I picked up 1.02" of rain since 7:30pm, skyrocketing my July total precip to 2.70". all in all a very unpleasant day to be outside. hit 97.7° this afternoon, the highest temp of the month. now i'll have to mow the lawn, dammit.
  8. hit 93° imby before our 3rd Severe T-Storm Warning of the year, after which we dropped to 74° currently 79/72, and suddenly we've got fireflies, you would not believe your eyes
  9. Yep, today's 94° with a 66° dewpoint did feel marginally better than Sunday's 90/72. Marginally. Went down to Crescent Lake earlier this evening and dicked around for awhile in the swimming area on the north shore. Felt like bath water. Stepped on a zebra mussel, which I do not recommend, was nice knowing you guys
  10. already feeling super gross outside with PTK reporting 71/66 as of 11PM. the brief rain showers this morning (0.11" imby) and stagnant overcast has led to a yuckening of the night that I can only describe as "wearing soup" or "sweaty underpants" my dehumidifier is going full BTO, takin' care of business (and working overtime, wooo)
  11. moderate rain/snow mix changed over to straight snow over the past 20 minutes here in Waterford, 35/31 imby. remember April in the D?
  12. temperature gradient looking like the powerball drawing. Flint area is especially tight
  13. Coming down at a pretty good clip here for the past half hour or so. Nice DAB
  14. had some giant floofs with the band that moved through between 2 and 3PM, no accumulation but easy on the eyes. backyard temp was 38°. the band around 6PM produced just rain, temp was 36°. currently some mist with visibility down to half a mile at PTK.
  15. absolutely barfing snow here. ~2" depending on where you stab the yardstick. just got home and the few cars I saw were keepin' er between the ditches (and lakes) so that's cool
  16. been riproaring here for a little over half an hour, flakes have been fattening. half inch easily since the start.
  17. pretty wild stat, but now it's been 0 days (at least for you)
  18. Hit -6.5° overnight, with a WC of -19°. Had a friend in Pensacola send me this photo of their 8.25" of snow from yesterday:
  19. 2.0" here in Waterford. Roads are a mess
  20. Quick dusting here in Waterford over the past 45 minutes but not snowing at the moment. At least everything looks pretty.
  21. Circulation near Holly earlier that prompted a SVR warning, along with straight line winds
  22. dude wyandotte's got so many sycamore trees. i loved it when I visited my grandma there in my youth days
  23. managed 0.01" at PTK so far today, my PWS hasn't registered anything (probably fked something up when I installed my new wind cups, so many earwigs living in there)
