  1. Exciting news for sure but we’ve seen these pickups before and they never pay off with our current team culture. This team has had enough pieces to put together a good run but it’s been a decade since they have had any kind of team chemistry to keep stringing together winning streaks. They have no back bone and let teams come in and push them around and wonder why they can’t win. The dumpster might now be on fire just yet, but it’s filled with gas and the matches aren’t far away. Don’t get me wrong I want to see the Sabres excel this year but they need a full blown culture change through the organization to get it done. And give me crap if you want... Eichel is great player but I don’t see him being the leader the team actually needs.
  2. If the KC game gets flexed you Sunday maybe an October Snow Game?
  3. I think it all depends how the storm impacted you with how it would rate. Would be hard for me to rank a storm I didn’t live through or don’t really remember. I’d say... 1. Nov 2014. Just epic. 2. Oct 2006. The destruction was just insane. 3. Dec 2001. Crazy snow total but really didn’t have a huge impact like Nov 2014 did. 4. Dec 2010. Was right in the small sweet spot for this one. Was also stranded in my vehicle for 4 hours. 5. Nov 2000. The impact to the downtown commute has never been repeated. Sleep Pick. Jan 2017. The intensity and timing of that band 28” in 6 hours not well forecasted hitting the height of the PM commute.
  4. He just tweeted a “proof of life” video as he was leaving the White House.
  5. This would be that cell. Would have been right down my line of sight along the lakeshore.
  6. Was hoping for some sunset spout watching but storms came in too late and was too dark. Got a few nice lightning shot. Quality sucks uploading to here. Thoughts on the red circle? Waterspout?
  7. Ain’t no quit with the action off Erie tonight. Another round firing up right over top of us...
  8. The CoCoRaHS spotter in West Seneca is closing in on 4.0” since midnight last night. Looks like the sweet spot ended up being South Buffalo, Lackawanna, West Seneca with that little sneaky area of lake enhancement we had overnight. Guess that 6” output might not be to far fetched if we get another round or two tomorrow.
  9. Cho Cho! Here comes the lake effect rain train! Looks like it’s gonna be a noisy night! WOW... that cell over Lake Ontario looks NASTY!
  10. Mark it on the calendar! KBUF will be blind for week starting 10/8. I would expect nothing less than some sort of impactful storm affecting us during the outage. Will be exciting to get the upgrade before the start of LES season though!
  11. Might only be rain but I’m pretty pumped to follow this setup for the next couple days. KBUF still downplaying the rain totals. Most model output is showing 3-6” of rain over the next 3 days... KBUF saying “weak lake effect rain showers” and just an inch or so. We shall see!
  12. 18 runs of the Hi Res really want to blow up that lake band over BUF. 4-6” of rain through Friday AM? KBUF office doesn’t even sound interested in their AFD...
  13. I’m so done with this lie. This f*in hypocrite gets on TV everyday criticizing us for not wearing a mask. Blames us for being selfish and spreading the virus. Threatens to arrest those of us that don’t comply. Having his health department go around closing business that don’t follow the rules. This isn’t about keeping us safe. It’s about control and bringing down Trump. This boob needs to resign!
  14. GFS has been pretty consistent flipping us to the cooler and wetter pattern come Oct 1. Even popping some higher elevation flakes now.
  15. Come on now let’s get this rain band movin East! Looks like it should clear up just in time for kickoff!
  16. Looks like it’s been an issue for a while now. I tabbed up the highs and lows for the past 3 weeks at KBUF and compared it to the three closest PWS, each roughly 3 miles away in different directions. The high temps seem to be fine as all 4 locations are all pretty close to each other. The issue this shows is the low temp at KBUF likely not getting as low as it should. KBUF is the warmest spot every night. Sometimes it is only a degree or two higher than the other stations but it has many stretches where it is 4-6 degrees warmer. Think it stuck out most recently as the past three nights the low At KBUF has been 8-9 degrees warmer than surrounding areas. Started to look back to early July and so far notice the same thing. Highs are all in line but lows are always a few degrees above all the surrounding stations. Weird!
  17. Was that the response you got? They are claiming it was only a single day glitch?
  18. Legend has it the more black the more harsh the winter. Looks about 50/50 there so... total crap shoot!
  19. That’s going to be the question! Just went back and scrolled through the heat wave thread and there are multiple posts about temps not seeming right At KBUF for one reason or another but we had no reason to question it then. I would say at least from early July on but probably longer than that.
  20. Here are the numbers at 9pm. KBUF at 74. A solid 6-10 degrees higher than its surrounding stations. But I did check it a few times today during the mid afternoon, and KBUF was right in line and actually maybe a tad to low? Can see the urban island with the higher temps in the city, throw in the SW breeze off the lake. Here is from the 2pm update with KBUF at 71 and surrounding stations in a 71-74 range. But back to the 9pm numbers, this is the third night in a row there has been a large skew just after sunset. Wonder what’s causing this?
  21. Yeah doesn’t seem right. For the hottest summer ever, outside that July stretch I didn’t think it was that crazy hot. Seemed like our actual high temps were consistently hitting a few degrees above the forecasted highs like every day. Could mean a probe issue? Remember couple years ago when we started questioning the Lake Erie temps being so out of wack and they found out the water temp probe lost calibration was reporting like 4 degrees off for months. Pulled another sample right at the 9pm update so the field is all pretty much at the same time. Sun has set already, it’s been cloudy and rainy all afternoon so no real solar or urban influence. Really nothing in that area that would influence it suddenly that I can think of. Airport on one side, Parking lot on another. Private house and small commercial building on the other two sides. Numbers are very consistent with upper 50s in the southtowns and low 60s in the northtowns. Can see the lake influence. The ONLY outlier from all these different sites is KBUF at 67?
