Is it a good thing... or a bad thing... that every GFS run gets better and better with snowfall output? -

Hey now! I’d put the cleanliness of my store up against any similar retailer! We’re disinfecting carts in between every shopper. Have a clerk on daily who does nothing but disinfect high touch points surfaces. We do a full clean down of the registers every 2 hours. Wegmans tried the register cleaning in between every shopper but it was a nightmare for them. It just caused a cluster **** line to the back of the store. They did away with that practice. It’s not feasible. Spread in a full sized grocery store or Target, Walmart is minimal to none. If it was we would be dropping like flies. I’ve had 2 workers test positive so far in wave 2. Contact tracing found both were infected in settings outside of work. Our health screening protocol is very strict. Anyone who has had contact with another positive person or claims 2 or more of the noted symptoms is sent home with pay. If corona was coming home on your loaf of bread from the store we would have all been infected by now. -

Damn. He’s already up to $9k raised in less than 3 hours! Did you catch the owner doing the live interview on Fox News at 7pm? He told his story, held up his $15k fine from Erie County then tore it up on live TV. Poloncarz won’t be none to happy about this guy! -

0.63%... on 152,000 tests... Wish they would break out more groups like this to see if there is a more common denominator where all these positive cases are coming from. Just a thought here, but data of just nursing homes would be a great place to start. -

China don’t play. Still don’t know if you can believe those numbers they report being so low... but I mean they did literally lock people in their homes when the first wave hit. -

Last day Erie County was under 4.0% was 11/2. Under Cuomo plan Red Zone is suppose to trigger when rolling 7 day average is above 4.0%. We should have went straight to red around the 10/11/12th time frame. Plus these zone restrictions are crazy in some ways. Movie theaters and malls can stay open but not gyms or hair salons? To much talk, blah blah blah, let’s just shut it down, red zone us for 2 weeks and let us out of timeout from Christmas! -

I want some answers on what the state of our contact tracing program is! Buffalo News article on people waiting 7 days to get their positive results back. https://buffalonews.com/news/local/shortage-of-contact-tracers-means-some-wait-days-to-learn-they-are-positive-for-covid/article_9855fd6a-2a83-11eb-96c2-2ff2b10561f9.html One of the initial NY Forward metrics was for the region to have an established contact tracing team. 30 tracers per 100,000 population. That would be 338 tracers just for Erie County and 521 total for WNY. 300 tracers at 600 total positives a day... the tracers daily workload would be 2 cases. Can’t see how you get backed up 7 days at that pace. -

This is interesting... So Erie County includes the POSITIVE tests from UB in their daily numbers, but does not include any of the NEGATIVES? Ehhh... UB can’t be testing that many students and faculty right? -

Orchard Park, NY – 100+ local business owners had enough. Erie County Sheriff’s Office escorted the Erie County Health Department into Athlete’s Unleashed, a local fitness center in an attempt to breakup a meeting. Gym owner Robby Dinero, organized a meeting of local business owners to discuss how to survive the increased New York State lockdown restrictions. About 20 minutes into the meeting, the Health Department showed up demanding to shutdown the meeting. Business owners weren’t having it and stood their ground. Business owners immediately rebuttled and notified them they walked into the windowless closed and private business, without permission and ordered them to provide a warrant, or leave. After about 3 minutes of heated discussion and refusing to leave, owners united and stood their ground. Then proceeded to tell them they were trespassing and to leave immediately to avoid legal action. Owners then began chanting “Get Out” and directed them to the door. “We are struggling. Our livelihoods have been taken. Our income has been controlled. Our freedoms have been taken away and many of us are about to lose everything we’ve worked for and they want us to sit there and not stand up?” said one business owner who wanted to remain anonymous. Once outside, the officials were notified they were on private property and ordered to leave the entire premises. New York State Governor Cuomo, recently named Erie County a micro-cluster orange zone, which forced gym owners, salons and high risk non-essential business to shut down and restaurants to cease indoor dining. Libertarian Candidate Duane Whitmer, spoke to Erie County Sheriff Howard immediately after, who stated he had no knowledge his deputies were showing up and had not instructed them to. Howard recently told media, he had no plans to have his Sheriffs enforce Cuomo’s ban on gatherings. The meeting was combined of business owners from all political parties, races and industries. Dinero, is a former US Marine, who made news when he defied shutdown orders back in March. -

The guy did communicate a lot during the first wave which is good for the public to hear, but he is just such a prick. Hate Trump for the way he talks to people, but obey me when I talk to you in that manner. A leader isn’t going to gain a following the way he acts. You need to motivate the people not put them down. This is why 4 years ago we put a guy like Trump in office. The state, county, and city governments here are such corrupt jokes. If not for family ties I would have left this state years ago. -

That was a great storm. The intensity and timing really caught the metro off guard. We just got home from school in West Seneca before the band moved over us. WKBW broadcast from the next morning... Also some nice raw footage from the post storm... Incorrect factual tidbits, but great footage. Amazing to see that “ice pack” on the roads. The heavy volume of traffic compacted 2’ of snow down to the density of an ice rink in the streets... -

No he’s just always been a prick to upstate NY, especially Buffalo. I’ll never forget Snovember when he came to town, held a presser where he yelled at us and blamed the slow recovery on citizens not staying off the roads... “when I say the roads are closed... the roads are closed” yeah and then he followed that presser by having his convoy take him up onto the 90 so he could shake hands with the stranded truck drivers and hug the kids stuck in buses. Same then as it is now. The rules apply to YOU but not to ME!
