  1. DTX is always like this. They dont issue watches until way late, like sometimes watch, then next cycle warning. Totally negates the point of a watch...
  2. Haha, well it was kind of a dud. MAybe they just forgot to send it out.
  3. GRR really late on their AFD, very interested in their thoughts. Must be tough for them too
  4. For sure, but I know this area. I am almost always let down by a storm. Usually bombs out and goes over IL/WI or completely dies off and is a nothing-burger. Thats a big reason I moved out of this area.
  5. I was thinking with the GFS moving west, the EURO will move east to Cleveland lol
  6. Did you used to live in Battle Creek? I think that's what I remember
  7. I can nearly assure that the euro is going to win, since I am currently in town. Storms always wait until after I fly back home before it dumps.
  8. Unfortunately, my jeep with good tires and lockers and a winch is stored in Orlando. I was going to drive it up, but thats a long drive while "hurrying" so Im driving some run of the mill sedan. Which means I wont really be able to drive around in the storm. But if the cutoff is like it was in 2014 I can at least get close and walk around. (I need to buy warm clothes, all my winter gear is in FL as well lol) Im still hoping that downtown buffalo is in the band. Fingers crossed.
  9. Im actually flying up for this storm, going to be my first of these storms, Ive chased a lot of events in SWMI. Im going to be staying at the regency so if anyone else is going to be around feel free to DM me. Hopefully the band comes right in over my hotel and not just south lol.
  10. Which basins? This would be helpful to use here in PR.
  11. Same, I was 1 click off buying a last minute flight up to be part of the storm. Overall decided against it due to the typical MW crap and the long duration snow. Wasnt worth how exhausted I would have been. Still hope it works out well for everyone though!
  12. Brings back fond memories, I wonder where Jdreken went, don't know why he's not here, AFAIK. I am seriously considering flying up back to MI just for this storm. Need to make a decision fast lol.
  13. Ha just curious on the swell aspect of the potential storm. There hasnt really been a decent nor'easter in a while. I no longer reside there, it always sucked seeing you guys get blasted with nothing in MI though.
  14. I havent been following this storm, is it likely to blow up into a decent nor'easter with high winds?
  15. This storm is aggravating! A nice band sets up then it completely falls apart. Rinse and repeat. Roughly 1.5" OTG here.
  16. Snow just started here in Lansing, sticking immediately.
  17. This is so true and it drives me insane. The point of a watch isnt to upgrade to a warning, its to highlight the possibility of impactful snows, you can always go down to an advisory if it looks like under 6 inches in 12 hours is very likely. There has been hardly any snow, at least recently. so a 6 inch advisory seems a bad taste call IMO.
  18. Im back in MI for the next few weeks. One thing I am a bit confused on is GRR, they say they arent going to issue a WSWatch because the totals look under warning criteria. But they also say 4-6", shouldn't they still issue a watch to get the public on notice?
  19. Ha, for sure! Lansing always seems to miss storms though. Its like it's thing. I did look at GRR and DTX before posting, consensus was 3-4 for Detroit and 1-2 in lansing
  20. Appreciate it, I did just take a look, only looked on the warning map because it was so crazy. I am not following this storm. I am glad the trends are reeling the storm in for you guys compared to what I saw at a glance. Just annoyed with the hostility.
  21. bro, my back yard is in Puerto Rico. Couldnt care less, I was just pointing out based on the way the warnings were it was sweeping up to miss most to the east. And wow, a whole 4 inches.
  22. I get it, but thats not the majority of the forum. I had said it seems to mostly miss the great lakes, if Im wrong i'm wrong. Im not tracking this storm, was just noting how crazy massive the warnings are and how it sweeps under my home area.
  23. Dunno, havent been following it at all I'm a bit removed from winter. Just occasionally look at the forecasts from GRR and DTX. Also, i just mean its mostly affecting the eastern fringe and just east of there. I didnt say no one was getting anything. But yeah, if DTW gets warning out of it then thats a win, but I judge things by my hometown, which is posied to get a few inches regardless.
  24. I meant relatively. Also this board doesnt count the eastern lakes. Most people here are from western OH west.
