  1. based on the obs it looks even warmer than advertised. Is that what you were saying?
  2. what do you mean? Still looks like a serious ice storm from what I have seen...?
  3. I was looking at the Ice Storm Index, but I am not sure what the wind means...Would that be wind speed or wind gusts? We are supposed to have 11-16mph winds with gusts to 37mph, trying to figure out how severe it might be.
  4. Hopefully the freezing rain location is a tad bit more NW. I want a big freezing rain storm.
  5. Does that push the moisture more SE or just make the wintry aspect larger/worse?
  6. I am relieved the NAM is in that area. I was expecting before it ran to be the most NW, this is do able for my area. Especially if we get a bit of a settling to the SE a tad in coming cycles. Rooting for an ice storm IMBY because they are so rare.
  7. Luckily I am not down there right now and I have no property! But yes it's getting very crazy there, be interesting to see if they continue to get worse. Word from friends are quite a lot of destruction...
  8. Man I'm sick of the heat, I want the freezing rain or snow!
  9. Where does the model have the snow going next? Or is it going to weaken?
  10. Yes! I hate the sun in the winter, melts the snow in places even below freezing. This is especially true in late Feb.
  11. Haha, compared to Michigan that doesn't sound that bad. I forget how much less cloudy it is outside of the lake moisture.
  12. Wah, our kids might not get as much snow but they will have a longer growing season and more rain - if the sun activity doesn't drop temps. Anyway why are we even talking about this? This is well beyond January, 2020.
  13. Doesnt really matter with the torch incoming....
  14. Yeah GRR's AFD's have been complete crud for the last few months. They use to be so detailed and now they are a few sentences. A shame...
  15. Why is Keweenaw county omitted from that map, Hoosier?
  16. Wow! Super jealous of the overperformer! Also, why have GRR's AFD's been garbage lately? They use to have a lot of information, now sometimes they are a paragraph for the full outlook- even when things aren't boring. Ie. stable.
  17. Early signs look good for the winter ahead. A bit angry because I will be missing this storm and missed the 6 incher for Mount Pleasant last week! Coming home for the winter (I do it backwards) starting the 15th. Can't wait!
  18. Yeah had about the same here in Bath. Sucks, I was rooting for ice.
  19. It's really hard to extrapolate -29 to -40. I have noticed on extremely cold nights the temp drops like a rock, then very suddenly hits a bottom and usually rebounds some, just to crash again to a lower bottom. -40 is much harder to get than -29, however saying you wont get under 15 below next week is way too early to call and I believe there is a very high probability of it busting. Especially since the airmass will be colder AND any warming effects will be severely hampered by this current cold air.
  20. Starting to worry about it coming north of even here... Wouldn't that be typical.
