  1. I find it very interesting you are able to grow those plants in this climate zone. Even in the summer. We get lows in Lansing in the Upper 40s in July some years and, to my knowledge, upper 40s is likely to kill those types of flora.
  2. wow nice! looks a bit like my backyard back home
  3. That blows my mind to not maintain it, but mostly to not drain the lake. This was a well advertised storm.
  4. Interesting. I find it funny people are giving so much crap to the Edenville dam owner for it's failing. It was built in the 1920's, it should have been updated but I doubt anything else would have held up against this flood. The only thing I can think of is the dams were far too small for the amount of water the Tittibawassee drains. After 4-7 inches of rain over the entire basin, there would be no way for the tiny spillways to let out water at a faster rate than was incoming. Why didn't they nearly drain the lakes before the event? It was always supposed to be a very large rain event - but not THIS big or pervasive.
  5. Did you see the video? I wouldn't really call that "still standing"...
  6. HOLY SHIT! I was there for 2 hrs this morning. I didnt think it would be total failure!

It was incredible to see. I stayed a while in edenville on the way back to watch the dam. Very creepy watching it, I didn't check out sanford because I was so tire, but I wonder how that dam looked... Gladwin was incredibly bad. A lot of the town was under water. Luckily in town I saw a lot of the houses were actually up on hills so I only saw a few with water in them, but man the river was waaaayyy out of its bank through town.
  8. Holy crap, I have been to that exact hill as pic #1. I actually rode my dirt bike to the top lol. Small world!
  9. So lets go for a June snow thread?
  10. Come join me ALL the way south. Except I am back in Michigan right now because of the pandemic. Wish I wasn't tbh.
  11. My money would be on the NAM being correct. Just based on climatology and the preceeding even which was halted by a large amount of clouds. I really can see clouds being a major problem with this set up. Hope I am wrong though, looks like (here at least) a large hail threat.
  12. It would seem my time in Puerto Rico was short. I left back for the states March 11, because I was worried about supply chain there as COVID-19 starts getting worse. And today basically the whole island is shut down. 5am-9pm you can only leave your house for "permitted activities" I.e. food, doctors, drugs. All beaches, parks, bars, restaurants, entertainment, is all shit down. Punishable by 6 months in jail and/or $5k fine. PR is not a place I want to be stuck. Crap is hitting the fan quickly. Will be highly interesting to see the coming days and weeks.... Stay safe all.
