    I'm far, far from perfect. The word is one that was commonplace years ago and I certainly used it more than once. I feel compelled to share this. I was at work years ago, 23 years old and far too immature for my age. I'm an only child and struggled to bond with people growing up. I got along with everyone but true friends of no one. I was awkward and used humor as an embarrassing attempt to "win" friends since I didn't really know how to. At any rate, at work there was a group of about 6 or 8 of us in the break room and one in the group was very large. I thought I would make a joke and see if I would get laughs as a way to "fit in" and gain popularity. Well, I seized the moment and let my joke fly. And you know what? Almost everyone did laugh. One did not. And as the tears poured down her cheeks, I learned the biggest lesson in my entire life, and one that 36 years later I have never forgotten. Words matter. They can do a lot of things, good and bad. My words crushed that woman in about 3 seconds. I vowed to never speak like that again. And now? I do harassment training with our workforce. And I share that story with every group. I don't want to forget. I want it to be a constant reminder that my words matter. I thank both of you for your honesty and your heartfelt words. Sometimes in life it's much harder to do or say the right thing. I know that first hand.

    As a proud uncle of a young adult who has an intellectual disability, this post saddens me. When will we move on from this kind of offensive language?

    MU says if the current trends continue, the LSV might need to worry less about flooding rains on Friday and worry more about Tornadoes. His call is 3-6" west of South Mountain with 1-3" east. I know the drill - I need to root for sleet to preserve the pack.

    The 10" event on 8/31/2018 was highly localized in parts of northern Lancaster county. No one else would have received anything close to that, so you're most likely thinking of a completely separate event.

    That almost perfectly matches the great Mount Joy deluge of 8/31/2018. There was a station that recorded 5.91" in one hour, or essentially 1"/10 minutes. That...is some heavy rainfall. Total rainfall that day in Mount Joy was 10.57". I got 6.16" that day.     I was waiting to see your numbers. You have a great shot at being over 10" in the first 10 days of the month. Impressive.
