  1. Drive up 322 from Lewistown to State College and find out! LOL .03" here since midnight.
  2. I'm far, far from perfect. The word is one that was commonplace years ago and I certainly used it more than once. I feel compelled to share this. I was at work years ago, 23 years old and far too immature for my age. I'm an only child and struggled to bond with people growing up. I got along with everyone but true friends of no one. I was awkward and used humor as an embarrassing attempt to "win" friends since I didn't really know how to. At any rate, at work there was a group of about 6 or 8 of us in the break room and one in the group was very large. I thought I would make a joke and see if I would get laughs as a way to "fit in" and gain popularity. Well, I seized the moment and let my joke fly. And you know what? Almost everyone did laugh. One did not. And as the tears poured down her cheeks, I learned the biggest lesson in my entire life, and one that 36 years later I have never forgotten. Words matter. They can do a lot of things, good and bad. My words crushed that woman in about 3 seconds. I vowed to never speak like that again. And now? I do harassment training with our workforce. And I share that story with every group. I don't want to forget. I want it to be a constant reminder that my words matter. I thank both of you for your honesty and your heartfelt words. Sometimes in life it's much harder to do or say the right thing. I know that first hand.
  3. As a proud uncle of a young adult who has an intellectual disability, this post saddens me. When will we move on from this kind of offensive language?
  4. First chance for me to post in hours- really big temp bust for me today. Forecast high of 74, actual high was 83.
  5. The precip in PA is moving east. The precip in MD/DE is moving northeast. The precip in WV is moving southeast. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/?parms=LWX-N0B-1-24-100-usa-rad
  6. Yuck! If they're the crown jewel in Rossmoyne...I don't need to go there. LOL
  7. I don't think there's a restaurant that I despise more than Isaac's. I'd rather read 3 pages of Blizz's snow ma... Maybe it's time for a sandwich after all.
  8. MU says if the current trends continue, the LSV might need to worry less about flooding rains on Friday and worry more about Tornadoes. His call is 3-6" west of South Mountain with 1-3" east. I know the drill - I need to root for sleet to preserve the pack.
  9. The 10" event on 8/31/2018 was highly localized in parts of northern Lancaster county. No one else would have received anything close to that, so you're most likely thinking of a completely separate event.
  10. That almost perfectly matches the great Mount Joy deluge of 8/31/2018. There was a station that recorded 5.91" in one hour, or essentially 1"/10 minutes. That...is some heavy rainfall. Total rainfall that day in Mount Joy was 10.57". I got 6.16" that day. Most since Lee in 2011 and nothing has matched it since. https://weather.com/news/news/2018-08-31-mount-joy-flash-flooding-stranded-cars
  11. I was waiting to see your numbers. You have a great shot at being over 10" in the first 10 days of the month. Impressive.
  12. There's a cell that's heading your way (about to enter Fulton County right now) that seems to be holding together really well. That could get you your .25" for the day in the next couple of hours.
  13. You "should" (hopefully) be better positioned than just about all of us to do well on Friday. Hoping...
  14. H2O roundup: Rainfall since midnight: .03" Rainfall yesterday: 1.75" August rainfall: 3.25" Rainfall YTD: 25.11"
  15. Up to .82" as the rain briefly increases in intensity. Temp is 68.
  16. Here it was the quintessential garden variety summer thundershower. I'm good with that because the rain is falling at a perfect, soaking rate.
  17. That was embarrassing. I sent texts to our kids who are local to take cover. It rained hard for several minutes and that was it. Now...get yourself some rain.
  18. .62" in the bucket for the day. Light rain now. Top wind gust was 11 mph.
  19. I couldn't either! I just followed his link from the MU Weather Center website.
