  1. I must be very fortunate...I think my USPS service has improved over the past 10-15 years. I can't remember the last time anything was late, and often I get my mail prior to the promised delivery date. My experience with both FedEx and UPS has been far more inconsistent. If FedEx sends me a notification that a package is out for delivery, and it's not at my front door at 2pm...it ain't coming until at least the next day. 2pm seems to be a magical time that they say "F it, we'll get it to 'em tomorrow".
  2. Looks like an absolutely stellar period of weather begins next Tuesday. As @Bubbler86 mentioned, with the dry weather this week and more dry weather next week, it's important we get watered on this weekend.
  3. Temp is currently 80.0 at 10:35am - with enough sun today's high temp will likely be AN after 4 straight BN days locally.
  4. Better hope that the board's most famous resident of West Virginia doesn't see this...
  5. Yes, we really enjoyed Whittier. The entire drive from Anchorage down to Seward was jaw-dropping. We flew from Seattle into Anchorage and on our shuttle to our hotel I said to my wife "this is sort of underwhelming"...after spending a couple of days in Anchorage we headed south. We were about 15 minutes clear of Anchorage and came to a screeching halt while moose were standing on the road. At that point and forward, there was nothing underwhelming about our trip... The drive north from Seward to Fairbanks was incredibly long and incredibly inspiring.
  6. Talkeetna, yes...Hatcher pass...yes...Girdwood...nope. Never heard of Bethel. LOL
  7. My parents lived there for several years. After a year or so they were planning their return to PA. Too expensive and too hard mentally/emotionally. It's a very long, very dark winter.
  8. Meh - when I was in Fairbanks it was 86 degrees. Same time it was low 80s here. Seward is my Alaska place. Snow capped mountains surrounding the city while standing in the Pacific, smelling the salt air. THAT was cool.
  9. I went to the doctor's there for more than 30 years. I know it well! Vis. Satellite shows the plume of smoke quite well over SE PA.
  10. I'm very, very weird. I was in bed awake far too early this morning and my mind immediately went to high temperatures. I was literally thinking/wondering if I'll snag a 90 or two in the coming days. #Icouldbedoingfarmoreexcitingthingsinbedwithmywifeotherthanweathergeeking.
  11. Sky is noticeably hazy this morning. Took a glance up when I left the house and was greeted by a milky-white instead of the sharp blues of the past several days.
  12. The museum is in Columbia! https://www.turkeyhill.com/about/visit

  14. Itstrainingtime Continental. (I have a runway in close proximity to my house used by the Maytown Parachute Club) https://www.skydivemspc.com/
  15. I don't know if it's the Airbus traffic coming into KITT or what, I can't grab myself some 50s. 60.6 for my low this morning.
  16. Just updated WPC 7 day - honestly, I'm surprised by how much rainfall they're expecting given some of the models/forecasts:
