  1. Not me. Maybe it's my Alaskan heritage but I love bitter cold.
  2. Coldest night so far this winter in Lancaster was 18. Seems reasonable to believe that we could break that tonight. Horst believes we're not finished with snow for the season, FWIW...
  3. Perception is amazing, isn't it? This morning if proof of how jaded people have become this winter. I'm betting that MDT gets higher than 35 tomorrow. Seems like we usually rebound from cold shots faster than progged.
  4. 33 here to start the day. People already complaining here in the office about how cold it is outside...I looked at a couple of them and reminded them that it's still well above normal for this date. No sign of any precip overnight here.
  5. Could not agree more with all of what you said. Even as an Orioles fan I would buy Phillies tickets when the Expos were in town. They were so much fun to watch.
  6. I think 97 was his best year considering he had 13 complete games in a league where the pitcher hit. It's semantics really...he was one of the best I've seen.
  7. He was so obscure pitching up there. He was absolutely filthy.
  8. It is fun. There's nothing else going on and we're having fun and not griping. As soon as we see a snow opportunity we'll be all over it.
  9. Thank you for sharing... all great stuff. I'm familiar with Piggly-Wiggly (can't say I was ever in one) and I have heard of Coosawatchie. It's become tedious at best and maddening at worst to navigate 95 from Baltimore to Richmond, but I can honestly say that I love the drive from the Carolinas the rest of the way down to Jacksonville. We might need to take a drive south on 95 later next week to see snow!
  10. You'll be posting like crazy during our April blizzard.
  11. In all seriousness though, Columbia SC is due for a blizzard. Might as well get it during this winter.
  12. I've driven to Florida many, many times and I still smile passing some of those signs. Not nearly as many as there were 30 years ago, but then again I haven't seen more than 4 cars in the parking lot for the past 29 years. One of my favorites is "You never sausage a place" It doesn't take much to amuse me.
  13. It just won't stop raining. More rain is moving up out of Maryland now. I freely admit I was wrong about today's weather.
  14. So much for the rain being out of here early this morning. Yet another dreary day.
  15. Wow! I thought you were doing better than that. You're 1.5" ahead of me.
  16. Here is what Horst is saying: "Another moist storm cutting to our west. Without downstream blocking (which there's been none of this winter), these west-tracking storms will keep bringing us mainly rain. This batch arrives early evening--perhaps a few sleet pellets...but otherwise all rain in Lanco." Are you guys forecasting together? (at least he substituted "perhaps" for your "maybe")
  17. These types of systems usually arrive earlier than expected and end even quicker...I would not be shocked if the precip is essentially out of here by sunrise.
  18. I agree with all of that...I was surprised more by the timing as this looks to be a predominately nighttime event to me. I think we might have some leftovers early tomorrow but the balance of the day seems dry, windy and mild.
  19. Wait...we're talking about an event tomorrow? From what I'm seeing this looks to be a solid rain event (LSV) from this evening through the overnight with just a leftover shower early AM tomorrow. What am I missing? From what I can see the LSV should easily reach the 50s before the arrival of the cold front...
  20. I was reading Don Sutherland's post this morning in the NYC thread and if he's right, a coating might be a huge win to round out this "winter"... But hey, flukes happen!
  21. On the bright side, this same old pattern is at least bringing you SOME snow.
  22. Which side of State Road 96 east do you prefer? I still think March might produce. Too soon to give up, that's for sure.
