  1. I'm with you 100%. Having said that, and this has been debated here and other places for a long time - I respect those that do. I might not share that passion with them BUT I understand it all the same. For a person who is a weather enthusiast and not just about snow, it's certainly interesting and fascinating to watch unfold. And I'm equally 100% sure that no severe weather enthusiast ever wishes death and destruction upon people...but it's a sad reality of nature at it's fiercest.
  2. At least 8 dead as well. We have our own day #1 MRGL for the southern tiers of counties today.
  3. Several March storms were warm in advance...'93 was, though a few recently were warmer. There was a storm in March, it might have been 2007 where we had close to 1' of snow a day after it was at or near 70. It was cold leading into '96 storm - when the storm started I was sitting at 8F after reaching only around 20 the previous day.
  4. Well, the forecast for today was overcast with PM light showers. It's been wall to wall sun (at least down here) which explains a lot specific to today... My wife says that my weather station is currently at 67.2!
  5. It's amazing how frequently it happens, I've talked about this in the past. Would love to know the why.
  6. Friday really isn't that far off from being interesting. Long odds for sure but hey...there's a chance of some wintry weather.
  7. I think @daxx is over 10" for the season, and I imagine that @Cashtown_Coop likely is as well.
  8. Have fun! I love Florida. Haven't been anywhere in the state yet that I didn't enjoy.
  9. After seeing some snowflakes yesterday morning I never saw any since. I remain at 9.6" for the season.
  10. It's brisk for sure - had to bundle up a bit for our daily walk. Nice to have a solid BN day before the warmup commences...
  11. Between my drive to work and the death band that came through here a while ago I'm probably up to about 255 snowflakes today. Bubbler, sounds like you're rapidly approaching measurable!
  12. Flakes were flyin' on my way into the office this morning, but alas...nothing measurable here. Maybe later tonight or tomorrow morning? I'd love to get .4" before the official wrap to get me to 10" but I'm not holding my breath.
  13. Radar looks interesting this evening. Instead of streamers off the lake the returns look much more cellular. I wonder if the wind is playing havoc?
  14. Multiple chances for a "heavy coating" over the next 36 hours for a few spots down our way.
  15. Exactly... Wait - I've been wearing shorts for a while now.
  16. There's seemingly no evidence to suggest that at this point we simply cut our losses and move on. I'm not sure why I'm having a hard time doing that.
  17. Winds here were stronger earlier and have since backed off a bit...it's still windy though.
  18. Well done. I'll refer to this picture often today and live vicariously through your snow cover and pretend it's mine... I did see multiple flashes of lightning and actually had one loud boomer last night with the squall line - it was purely rain here for me though.
  19. Yes...I'm aware and still following daily. I was simply sharing his thoughts.
  20. Pretty good squall line is blossoming in west central PA on both sides of I-80.
  21. I think Horst has reached stage 1 on the throw-in-the-towel meter. He acknowledged today that while we might see a nuisance snow add onto our nuisance seasonal total...the chances of something significant are going...going...
