  1. Yeah...I get it for sure. I HATE rooting against snow. I feel like a trader. Hopefully there's a way we can score and she can get down their safely.
  2. I've never rooted against snow in my 53 years but I am for for next weekend. My wife and daughters are leaving Sunday morning for a little 500 mile trip to the high country of North Carolina. At the very least I hope the timing is delayed...though I realize that hurts our snow chances big time. I'll be much quieter than normal for this go round as the last thing I want to be is a wet blanket.
  3. That snowfall distribution really is reminiscent of the first 2 of that winter's doozies.
  4. This is Eric's sense for late next week. He doesn't sound very enthused... Late next week is nebulous...but Arctic air will be building to the north as another Pacific storm crosses the country. Given a bit of a downstream blocking pattern, you could make the case for a possible snow event around December 8th. However, without any blocking....a track up the OH Valley is more likely, meaning rain or a wintry mix changing to rain.
  5. Seems to be some sort of signal for a winter storm centered around 12/8-12/9. As Superstorm alluded to above, the pattern looks to relax in Mid-December so perhaps we can score something during the transition.
  6. LNS is less than 3" away from the all time record as well.
  7. I just logged on and saw no one answered you. I would leave early...like by 7am. All grass lots are closed tomorrow so parking will be tough and you'll likely need to walk or shuttle in from town. It leaves you with a lot of time to kill but at least you'll be there safe, parked, and settled in. All parking lots that are open will be available at 8am. Shop in town and go to the BJC to warm up and check out what is going on in there.
  8. Truth! I'm trying to recall a storm where virtually the entire subforum received a 6"-12" snowfall. Doesn't happen often for sure.
  9. State College has been shafted repeatedly for years. Glad to see Happy Valley get smoked this time!
  10. Suffering from a mild case of DAD this morning, but knowing that it's only 11/16 sure helps. DAD = Day After Depression
  11. I never once saw one Penn Dot truck today. I'm not one to throw out complaints quickly but today was an abomination. Roads are still horrific.
  12. Just got home. Left work at 4pm, took 3 hours 15 minutes to traverse 12 miles.
  13. I might be sleeping in my car down here. I have no where to go. Gridlock everywhere. It's chaos.
  14. Mostly an icy mix here at work now...or as I like to call it "snowpack preservation precip"
  15. The map totals continue to rise. Love storms like this!
  16. Intensity has fallen off, and some hints of sleet here at work now, but I have nearly 6" on top of my car. Great, great storm! It's 25 degrees on the afternoon of 11/15...
  17. Ouch! I meant to multiply those numbers by 2.
  18. Just took my wife 75 minutes to go 6 miles. And that was on back roads, not a clogged major artery. Flake size is notably bigger once again here at work.
  19. Your area down into Carrol and Frederick counties in MD are getting wamboozeled.
  20. Heavy snow at work, flake size has decreased to the point that it looks like a mid-winter heavy snowstorm. Just gorgeous to look at...wondering how late I'll be here until it's safe to climb Mt. Chickies...
  21. Maybe, but I dunno...a lot of places WAY south of us have that much already and they are still snowing.
  22. Obs to our south in northern MD are making me giddy...
  23. Of all days I'm in a 6 hour meeting. You can tell how tuned in I am...
  24. Total confidence i start as sleet. Even more confident I flip to snow.
