  1. Bring it. I'm so looking forward to walking in pleasant weather. Like MAG, I still don't really see anything to get excited about, so if snow is finished, let's have some nice weather. 40s and winds in March is not fun if there's no real hope for true wintry weather.
  2. Stellar night for radiating...I finally cracked the teens, got down to 17.6 at 4:35AM. Already up to 28.
  3. It'd be interesting to hear his thoughts that led to his proclamation - I mean, he could very well be 100% correct. We won't know for a few more weeks. Just seemed sort of bold to make that kind of prediction when there's at least some suggestion of wintry weather.
  4. You guys have been significantly colder than me last 2 nights - my low the past 2 nights was 23. Day #4 today with a chilly breeze/wind.
  5. I'd sacrifice some snow to see Baltimore get paralyzed by snow after some of those comments.
  6. You know we're living in truly messed up times when Williamsport is throwing out optimism in the face of adversity. I guess that's what a 50 something inch winter of snow will do for 'ya!
  7. I haven't posted much of anything in regards to snow prospects for a couple of weeks now, and it's been intentional. I haven't seen a look yet that I can get really excited about. I think your analysis is spot on in every way. Not giving up yet...but not really getting any warm fuzzies for wintry precip, either.
  8. Highest hourly winds that I could find at MDT yesterday was 35 mph...not sure where to find peak gusts? Regardless, it sure seemed windier that that in the mid to late afternoon hours. You do know wind like no one else in here.
  9. 1993 was far from my best storm, snow total wise, but it was the most exciting single weather event of my lifetime, except for PERHAPS Sandy. 1993 was a special storm in so many crazy ways, which we've documented here often. I will never, ever forget it.
  10. When I made my post there is NO way it was 20-30 mph less, at least here. We didn't have 60-70 mph winds the other day, but we easily gusted past 40 this afternoon.
  11. I've thought several times over the years that we've had winds stronger without advisories than when we've had them for sure.
  12. It's been breezy/windy all day. But in the past 90 minutes the wind has ramped up considerably here. Some of these gusts are easily 40+ mph. It's howling.
  13. I used to do the same thing - my wife got tired of oversized ice cubes taking up her space, so I had to stop.
  14. Quite likely. Today is the first day to start with zero evidence of snow on my property in...a long time.
  15. I reached 56 (55.8) for the high here. Thinking we'll add about 15 on to those numbers this time next week.
  16. 52 here...definitely won't make 60, but it still feels mighty good to be out in the sun today.
  17. Thank you for sharing this. January 21st 1994 was the coldest temperature I've ever recorded...-23 was my low. I remember how jaw-dropping it was to see my thermometer that low...the coldest temp that I remembered prior to that was Christmas 1983 when I recorded -6.
  18. Ugh...don't remind me. I'm counting down to the summer solstice and descent towards early sunsets.
  19. Wind is absolutely ripping here. Trash night fail coming up later...
  20. Seriously - some of those comments are in horrible taste. It saddens me to read that stuff... I hope some of them are shoveling snow up to their arses in the coming weeks.
  21. Yeah, my point was rather extreme to be fair. Interesting conversation though - I really don't, and have never paid much attention to what MDT reports. While I enjoy very much reading what others get, what matters most to me is what's outside my window.
  22. Fair enough - but if I get 18" from a storm and MDT gets 6", I will remember that I got a foot and a half and not that the airport got a half foot.
