It was teasing a cane coming up the Fla coast a few runs ago. Does the graphic show a pic of Trainings license plate as he is hauling ass out?
My ass is leaving town on the 12th. Would have loved to experience the surf from that.
First storm consisted of zero wind, 2 rumbles of thunder, and .12" of rain.

Deluge in Lancaster
.Yeah, that thing blew up in York county and moved into Lancaster just south of me. I'm waiting on this next cell in central York to get here...sky has grown dark.

Sun is still peaking out here in Maytown - nary a drop of water thus far.
It's coming. Patience...

And turning back to baseball, O's 2 in a ROW!
It's a sight to behold. If they keep this up they might fool me into thinking they're a big league team or something.

I think today we have a better chance then yesterday. I don't know about the severe part, but feel later today might be some downpour areas. We shall see.
Agreed. Hopefully we get wet without the damaging stuff.

Sure looks more and more like we'll get more rainfall tomorrow PM than at any point today...at least from what I can tell.

pulled from his speech.
"Olin Saylors. I played American Legion ball for Post 14. He came by my house every day and picked me up. I didn't really want to play ball, but Olin was very [determined] to make me play baseball for American Legion Post 14."
The story goes Jim walked past the Legion practice, my uncle ask him if he wanted to play. he came on the field, picked up a bat. the first couple pitches thrown to him he took yard. After that he never came back. my uncle hunted him down. Jim said he couldn't play, he had to work. My Aunt and Uncle bought him food and clothes as they didn't have much. the rest is history as they say.
What a great story Jon. I remember you sharing that before. I find fascinating to hear stories from professional athletes. Some seem born to be a pro while others showed no interest as a child. Some flame out quickly, some improve right up until retirement. Regardless, stories like Jim and Olin's is pretty special.

Flood watch up for SE VA and NE NC, but as of now, a good part of next week looks pretty nice with a lot of sun and temps in the upper 70s...

Dale Murphy unfortunately played in the bad years of the Braves .
Eddie Murray...underatted switch hitter imo.
Eddie was and forever will be my all time favorite baseball player. I get goosebumps thinking back to "Ed-die" chants on 33rd street...

I almost got kicked out of Camden yards in September 2011 for yelling at Carl Crawford. I came thisclose to jumping over a fence …..
You'd fit right in at an NBA arena.

TB is red hot in general. They cannot do attendance well there but man do they work wonders on small budgets in different sports.
7 minutes ago, paweather said:YOU ARE EXACTLY SPOT ON! The Rays wow, and they have done that in the past as well and no I can't give you one name off the starting 9. I admire them for how they built that roster and compete as well as they do.
Major league results with minor league vibe (attendance, star power, etc.) but they get it done. Have to nod your cap to 'em.

The team I admire most in MLB? The Rays. Again this year they were largely discounted as they are every year...and look where they are...
Now real quick, someone fire off the starting 9.
Yeah...I didn't think so.

Since Cal Ripken?
Half the talk about Cal was negative..."he's selfish, he cares more about himself than the team" kind of nonsense. The guy got paid very well to play a game that he loved. He showed up to play every day, just like we do for work. If it's more than acceptable for us to be at work every day, why was Cal selfish for doing the same thing?

It looks like they strung together 5 consecutive non-losing seasons from 2012 to 2016.
3 playoff appearances in there as well. It's funny, a lot of people assume that the O's have been horrible forever...they're only 5 seasons removed from the postseason.

Maybe a little drier towards Baltimore, the O’s won’t get rained out as they build their 14 game winning streak.
35 minutes ago, Bubbler86 said:Only 13 to go. I approve of them taking 3 from the Ray's.
Sad part of all of this is this reality - this is the most conversation on the Orioles since...since...well, I don't remember.

Mike, if you stay in a semi state of inebriation, the heat may not bother you
edit- nice shower now in Harrisburg
My wife actually drinks more than I do - thing is, we LOVE this house. It's only 4 years old, gorgeous pool, hot tub, and right off the ocean. Tons of space inside. With my high powered fan blowing I can make 74 tolerable for a week given everything else that we love.

Not an O's fan, but y'all know my daughter is a Baseball nut. She's taking me Baltimore to June 21st game. A kid who graduated from Millersville with her plays for the Astros
THAT is really cool. Father and daughter going to a game together, and initiated by your daughter. That is awesome stuff right there, and I hope you have an amazing day together.

I have been noticing less precip down there but did not want to jinx you by saying anything. You will definitely be cooler than us if the CMC is right again.
Generally expecting highs in the mid 80s on the coastline next week. It will be humid as crap though.
You know, I am a rule follower through and through but I'm always challenged to follow my morals on vacation. There's a notice in our house stating not to set the AC below 74 degrees...are you kidding me?
