Yea, let's get some rain today then go into a week of low humidity, Open windows at night, and electric bill savings.
How are we looking today?

1.58 welcomed inches here in 17552.
Wow! I got home late yesterday to find .56" in my gauge. Over 1" less than you.

Drenching, tropical like showers have been rolling through here since early AM. Nearest station (about 20 miles away) is reading 81/77. She's wringing it out pretty efficiently.

I did not notice your location change until now. Were you posting in the NC forum? :-)
No, only have in here. Limited posting for obvious reasons but wanted to provide updates on what it's like here.
If you look at the Outer Banks on a map, it's sort of shaped like a boomerang. We are at the eastern most tip of it.

Man, that looks like a great location.
It's closer to the ocean than many oceanfront homes are, but because it's not, I pay a fraction of what the oceanfront homes go for. Private pool, hot tub, cornhole, and bikes all included and it's a great time.

Dude, that view is incredible. I love West Coast (of Florida) beaches but that pic makes me want to jump in the car and head east.
We love it here. Pool is a super cool bonus as a diversion from the hot sun on the beach.

Thanks all! It's been an incredible week so far. Timing of our rain is unfortunate but it's hard to complain much after what we've enjoyed.

First rain of the week last night- nice again today but the weather looks ominous for driving home Saturday. Heavy, flooding rains expected to arrive later tomorrow continuing into the weekend.

Sunny, 84/69 here with a SW wind at 15 mph. Another gem of a day!

Good. The radar looked like it but maybe it was just to your west.
Yes! You got it - very common summer weather pattern where activity forms just inland and slowly migrates further west. It was quite dark across the sound around lunchtime but it was nice right here on the coast. It's cleared out everywhere around us now.

Looks like training is taking it all today down in OBX.
Taking what? It's beautiful here. Sunny and 85. Winds are out of the west today but we should get our sea breeze back tomorrow. Not a drop of rain so far and little chance of any until Thursday or Friday.

83 for the high here today. Quite humid, but breezy and delightful this evening.

Leaving EARLY tomorrow morning - next week looks Mostly Sunny with the daily 30% chance of a shower and highs around 80. I'm stoked!
Next obs will be from Rodanthe, NC.
I lied about my next observation- it's pouring here with CTG lightning and booming thunder. Far better than anything yesterday even if my total ends up rather meager.

Ah yes, the 'ol Maytown Island, as some in the realty business refer to it. My wife and I are house shopping (awful in this market I know) and have had our eye on a couple places near Maytown. Love the area and grew up going to Donegal until 5th grade but man it's just removed enough to be inconvenient getting to places. A real lack of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc. I know people in Marietta have the same issue with where to shop. With that said, we are strongly considering it. Would be curious to hear your pros and cons.
I'll pm you later when I have a chance.

.22" final tally here. Not overly optimistic about today's chances either.
.19" for me - I had to go down to Columbia last evening and as soon as I descended Chickies Hill it started raining. By the time I got to the grocery store on 462 it was a deluge. Got home an hour later...nothing.

Parts of Lanco are getting yet another round. Seems south of Training though.
Yup, the only training going on is clouds racing by to my south.

Nice early summer evening - sunset is beautiful.
And how! Brilliant orange sky to my west, a menacing sky to my south and east.

Seriously. Was at my dad’s in Mountville where they got pounded and just a few miles away over the ridge I only have .15”. Skimmed yet again. We’ll see if nightfall brings any added bonus rains.
Neck and neck again- my station is reading .16"

Thanks guys. I was stunned to return home last evening and find out I got just over a half inch of rain for the entire week. It sounded like we got a lot more than that. Hopefully today works out- minus the severe.
