    What a difference a day makes! After not seeing much sun until late morning yesterday, sun has been fully out here since virtually all morning. Just a few wisps of high clouds in the sky here at this time.

    A few stray cells have popped in the MD/WV panhandle now.

    That's sunnier than it is here. Clouds here are bigger, taller, and darker.

    As of now, there's nothing to suggest on radar that you're wrong. Cells are forming to our NW and moving NE. There's nothing yet to our south that would move up into our area.

    I don't know...I have a lot of sun with large towers shooting up already. Also, my wind is E/SE which I seem to remember from history can be a bad omen for severe weather. I know very little about this, but I'm riding with Canderson. I think there's going to be a lot of severe popping this afternoon. I really, really hope I'm wrong.

    Cells just starting to fire now in the central mountains, there's also one west of Harrisburg.

    I opened this thread 24 days ago...a summer thread that is now 71 pages long. Last year's summer thread went through early September and reached 76 pages.

    Not at all. I received 6", 6" in going in my records. And I'm out enjoying that amount. What bothers me somewhat is when people that I've gotten to "know" on here get hosed while I score big. I know how it feels to be on the outside looking in...it's tough. Snow is thing, you know. But what happens on a concrete tarmac? Couldn't care less.

    Yeah...I understand that. It just doesn't make me feel any better when MDT records 17" of snow while I got 9" followed by rain. I'll never look back on that event as a 17" of snow when that's not what happened at my locale. Granted, that's an extreme example for snow perhaps but just a few days ago, MDT received over 2" of rain on the same day that I got .27".

    Ha! No, not peeved by being represented by MDT, my point was that I represent myself. What happens at MDT is meaningless to me because I don't live there. As we know painfully well, you only need to go a very short distance to experience a wide variety of weather. I don't care what MDT gets because it's not reflective of my house. My home weather station takes care of that for me.

    As @Mount Joy Snowman said earlier this morning, convection makes for big winners and big losers. You'd like to think that over time that things even out...but really that doesn't always happen. As you said, we need a more typical cooler season type LP to bring an area-wide soaking. Everyone joins in on the fun, and everyone gets the type of rain that is really needed.

    I see that CTP has me at 40% for today, 60% for tomorrow. We'll see. Really hope that your area gets hit today. Cannot imagine how frustrating it is to be this dry 2 summers in a row. At least you did well with the white stuff last winter.

    And just to add, go about 6-8 miles NW of my location and they're around 8" since last Thursday.

    Lightning and thunder woke me up. Constant flashes and several REALLY close strikes. Not sure I bullseyed as I was too tired to get out of bed. I got .85" overnight. Total since yesterday morning was 1.12". Total since last Thursday stands at 5.61".

    I was wondering. We drove through Mt. Joy earlier and there was water running everywhere, and brown, muddy water in the fields. That was not the scene around our place. No idea what they got but it was certainly more than a quarter inch.

    Just back from dinner out with my wife. .15" fell while we were out, sitting at .27" for the day. Areas just to my east and northeast got far, far more...
