  1. LOL. I thought of you last night when I was coming home past the airport. There must have been a plane out, the runway lights were on and the aerodrome beacon (I had to look that up) light was on. Quite impressive for such a small international airport. LOL What's it like out there now? It's quite overcast and 64 here currently.
  2. Very, very nice day to be outside. Which, I'm not.
  3. Sun-splashed skies and 75 at high noon. On track for the low 80s this afternoon.
  4. CTP has your high temps a good 5-10 degrees warmer than mine tomorrow through Wednesday. They don't have me getting much above 80.
  5. I need training on how to read a personal weather station remotely...
  6. LOL, no the trainer readeth the current temp and not the low temp. Actual low temp was 50.2
  7. High today was 77. Currently 67. That...was a perfect weekend. Especially for mid June.
  8. Sunny and 74 here, MDT got to at least 75. Nice recovery this afternoon.
  9. Just passed the 70 degree mark. Edit. It's up to 72.2 here.
  10. My temp has fallen back to 64 again. Paweather might be on the verge of pulling off a coup. I thought there was no way I'd be at 64 at 1:30pm on June 18th without it raining.
  11. After falling to 63 at 10:30, now back up to 66 with the sun emerging.
  12. MU going with a big time heat wave starting as early as Tuesday and lasting until...
  13. @Blizzard of 93 one last parting thought before your summer escape to the barrier island - When you return, the march towards winter will have begun.
  14. Working from home this afternoon - the wind direction and speed makes it sound like the dead of winter inside. One step outside removes that dream quickly. Hmm...I haven't had hair in 30 years. I can't relate to the feeling. I peaked at 92, currently at 91. But...it's now a dry heat.
  15. Great choice! The forecast for KDH starting tomorrow through most of next week is wall to wall sun. Enjoy! Don't let the temps in the mid 80s fool you...it will be quite humid with high heat indices. We like to go to the beach after 4pm - much more pleasant than around high noon. Less people around you as well.
  16. You're welcome. KDH is a great location being only 7 miles from the bridge over to OBX, and has a lot of things to do in the area. I almost forgot one of the most important things in KDH to visit in our history - the Wright Brother's First Flight museum. That is a MUST do!
  17. Here's the main (okay, only) runway at MIA (Maytown International Airport) with the town of Maytown in the upper right. The hills in the background are in York county, with the Susky in between.
  18. I think mid 70s is about right. Can't see it staying in the 60s for sure.
  19. You're still looking for your first 90, correct? This will be #8 for me.
  20. It's 10:35am and I'm at 87.4. Yeah...looking pretty likely. LOL
  21. Places to visit - Jockey's Ridge State Park (milepost 12) has the largest sand dunes on the East Coast, plus a great visitors center. You can also climb both the Bodie Island and world famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouses. Both of those are on Hatteras Island. Bodie is only about 20-30 minutes south of KDH, Cape Hatteras is about an hour, but it's a gorgeous drive down NC 12. If you're looking for a day trip, drive 90 minutes to the southern end of Hatteras Island and drive on the free ferry to Ocracoke Island. Quaint little village at the end of the island with plenty of shops and restaurants. All local, no chain stuff. Between the drive and the ferry back and forth, you'll want to budget an entire day to do this.
